So I find that if I log in and try to start playing, the lag I experience in the inventory screens is crazy. However, if I “update my driver” and restart then everything works great. The issue is that my driver is already up to date so I’m not actually updating anything when I do it? That being the case, if I don’t “update” then it’s unplayable? Hello fellow Warband enthusiasts. This post is simply my thoughts on Bannerlord so far. May be useless for people several hours in and may be interesting for new comers. 1. The combat is absolutely phenomenal. The learning curve is still there despite me playing warband for years beforehand. Absolutely love it. 2. Graphics are amazing. Everything feels so medieval and adequately shiny/filthy in the right setting. 3. Characters and plot are a bit of a dip from warband. I enjoy the fact that there's a plot to follow that can sorta unfold differently for each player but, as we all know, it's still in the works and understandably needs some more time. The characters are not as memorable as warband heroes and leaders. I used to remember each and everyone in warband as having a distinct character trait that really showed in their behavior and just the way they looked frankly. 4. Currency. Messed up. I've noticed that when you are part of an army or you are leading an army with fellow companions as party captains you have no option of keeping them on the backline and they tend to drop dead like flies. Is there a way to create more granular unit groupings other than the categorical Infantry/Missle/Cavalry/Missle Cavalry? I'd really like to be able to take, say, my Sword/Shield infantry, my Spears/Pike Infantry, and my Two-Handed infantry and split those into maniples. Having played Total War for way too long, it's painful having to lump all of those in together when my brain is demanding I take those two-handed units and send them around the back while I have the shield boys hold the line or do the initial advance. I'm open to mods that accomplish this, but surely there's an OOB solution that I just haven't discovered? Not sure if this was intentional in a recent release but I freed Mulam of the Lake rats after a battle and somehow he is now a companion in my party, not one that I can access via character screen, but I can access his inventory (nice gear...let's trade) and he's fighting the good fight now, not sure I should dismiss him knowing we'll met again someday on the field. submitted by /u/oefox [link] [comments]

I have a 2060 RTX, 4,2GHz 6 cores Intel i7 and the game is on SSD. Every time I open trade menu, or even enter city, my game freezes hard for 1-3 seconds. Not to mention lag spikes on the world map every 2 to 10 seconds. I remember playing Bannerlord on my old PC and there was no problems whatsoever, but now it's just killing me even with a new rig. Hi guys, i played a lot of warband back in the day and bit when bannerlord got released (2 weeks at most) but it was not ripe enough. Tried it again yesterday and i noticed that my soldiers fled like 3 of them died (we were 14 vs 11 looters, first serious "battle"), And i lost like a bitch, while at game launch it happened exactly the opposite. I do not like grinding to an extreme degree, and my goal is to enter battania and either become their king or my own. Do you have a couple of general suggestions on how to get around decently? I noticed their lords seemed to be decent guys and they were a small faction, exactly what I was looking for. Joined them, found out you can't recruit their troops because they're too overpowered, there's no bandits anywhere on their land, and none of the lords or village elders need help... Do they only exist to hard counter the Zann? Is there a way to nerf them and make them a proper faction, or remove them from the game even? I don't understand the point. I was wondering if any of you guys have tips on how to make battles last longer and be overall slower. To me the speed of battles is way too quick for me to make it feel realistic and engaging. Units move, attack and kill eachother super fast ones lines of infantry clash. I used to have the 'health rebalance' mod installed which boosted the health of all units by 200%. This made things alot slower but unfortunately the archers became useless and the mod is not up to date anymore. I have also tried the realistic combat mod which makes the AI block more often and such. This helps a bit but still doesn't go far enough i think. What’s your favorite stage of the game to play through? I think mine is the early-mid game when you’re just starting to make it and are having battles with armies ranging from 75-150 troops in size. Reasons being: You can see the whole battle easily. Your character can play a much more decisive role in the combat. You can also notice your companions more. It’s not an all out brawl- moving a force of 15-20 skirmishers to flank can swing the whole battle. Same with cav, although cav charges remain supreme throughout the game. Doing quests at this stage is still enjoyable and useful. Questing becomes obsolete once you reach a certain clan rank. Your character is progressing a lot. Things get a bit stale once progression begins to grind to a halt… as nice as it is cutting swathes through enemy forces, having some challenge is nice. Every stage has it’s ups and downs though, I would love to hear other opinions on this. Maybe I’ll be inspired to try a different kind of playthrough.

So I have a friend who is interested in the game and has played for a bit. The problem is he is bad at pvp and loves multiplayer. He tries to hide it but I know he has been practicing and gets a bit upset (like most) when he loses a game. I am not good myself but I still was wondering if there is any advice you have? So I have just returned to playing Warband recently and I played the Gekokujo mod for the first time, absolutely love it. But just now, as I was patrolling near my town of Funai with my small force, I received a message telling me that the Strategist has “levied” 100 soldiers from Funai. To my horror, I watched as he marched out of town with my army of Elite Onnabushi, Hatamoto Calvary and Elite Spearman, leaving me with a garrison of peasants. This has never happened to me before while playing Warband. Never before have I felt such rage. All that hard work, bloodied battle and money spent on my men, and this clown just rode in and took it. After a while researching and meddling with the script.txt, I make it so the AI cannot took my army (though the Strategist will still refuse to leave my town till I cut the garrison down almost in half, F that fool). I am with the Otomo clan right now. I saved them from almost being wiped out and brought them back to be a powerhouse on the Kyu

Hey! When the game came out in EA it ran smooth. But with every single patch it gets worse and worse. I've looked up guides on what to change but they did nothing. My problem is when the game loads in I can't move without the screen tearing and sometimes the fps going from fixed 60 to 1 for a couple seconds. Also I have a bug which noone seems to have that when I walk up to a village and try to recruit I see that there are spots where units supposed to be but they won't load. All I see it the small icon on top left or right ( can't remember exactly where it is) which signals they are there. Did anyone managed to fix their issue? Getting back to the game after quite some time and i notice that it has some stutter issues. I never had such problems before when it first released only minor fps drops in 1k man battles but that's it. Any idea what might be the case here? I don't get it in my 550 some hours playing this game every time I make a caravan it loses me 100-300 gold a day and then after a few weeks it gets captured by bandits and I'm out 30+k or whatever the upgraded caravan cost. I had one caravan that didn't lose me much probably because the caravan master had some trading skill but still same problem of them getting captured within a few weeks again by bandits. I wanna interact with mercenery clans, but tracking down their leader has been pain stakingly daunting. The only thing I know to do was to go to their last seen location, sees that they're not around, speed up, check if there's any last seen location change, rinse and repeat until days later that I finally found the guy I need to talk to. And most of the time after all these, the dialogue for hiring doesn't even exist for me. Is there a better way of doing this? I see AI faction can instant hire a full swing of merc clans against me the moment they declare war. This makes me feel like I'm playing against some computed numbers instead of properly emulated opponent. I don't think I know how to play most part of this game, MnB is one of its kind, but I really wish the gaming experience isnt the kind of mess as it is right now. I know about kiting them to army of lords or becoming marshall myself, but is that the only way to deal with them? Right now I carry 150 top-tier civilian units (I can mix in some KO units too, but I'm trying to save them), and I can't even make a dent in the easiest of armies (e.g. mystmountain, snake cult), due to just severely outnumbered in the field. I might have 3:1 kill ratio but the moment their cavalry break my archer lines it's all over. Are they meant to be taken with a group of lords only? Or should I just not care about them? I have bought an RTX 3080ti, and can't seem to run custom battles as it causes a permanent freeze on the game and will only quit if I close the bannerlord launcher on Task Manager as ALT+f4 doesn't kill the task but removes the window (so sounds continue playing which is odd). At first, I thought it was due to an overclock so I ran everything at a stop, CPU, RAM at JEDEC speed and GPU at stock, still get that weird crash. ​ The crash seems to be tied in with the sound as it cuts in and out during fights. I have done stress tests on 3dmark unigine and bf5 and RDR2 (Games that can be finicky) to stress test the GPU and see if it is stable. ​ I've verified game files, Deleted and redownloaded Bannerlord, I have no mods either and multiplayer works so I'm at my wits end with the game. ​ The funny thing is on my 6800xt there is no such issue (and yes I have used DDU to make sure no drivers are interfering and removed everything to do with each gpu) ​ Is this just

OK, so it was done. I gathered 185 elite warriors, best equipment and fine companions and wife. Prepared also 500 K denars as I remembered from some Warband mod that keeping kingdom is very costly first. It was not my intention to create Kingdom in that moment as I still wanted to gather around 250 K (hunting Aserai carans in this short passage near Quyaz is really easy but suddenly found that Marunath (city) is changing sides very often and it seemed that battles between Battanians and Western Empire going on there. Went there, waited till Battania crushed forces of Empire around and besieged city - hoping that Empire doesn't have power to come back with strong force again here. And was right - after short battle (only around 150 soldiers were in town) - town was mine. And here are my questions: 1 - is there any real diplomacy in game? Because what I found after i finished quest and found kingdom its' that we just need influence to declare war/ sign peace. As I understand

You know, the little “mission” where they send you in to kill the castle/city defenders, except they usually assign you sub-par troops as backup to aid you, which are often your companions who may or may not be designed for combat? Every time I lose this mission, my troops lose a whopping 30 morale and I am so fucking sick of it. Like why? That’s not even usually an important part of taking a castle, since when the event fires your enemy is usually to their last dregs. As much as I love Warband, there is so much stupid shit in it that gives me frustration. This is, for one reason or another, the thing that frustrates me the most. My personal favorites are "long reach" from throwing skill - pretty vital if you are planning on being a mounted archer/crossbowman/javelin thrower behind enemy lines as soon as you start encountering those massive 1500v1500 battles. Also, "dash and slash" from roguery unlocks so many options as you can spec out for utility perks in the combat skills and your attacks (as long as you move towards your target) will still hit like a truck. And finally, "impale" from throwing again as in conjunction with "annoying buzz" from riding ensures that you will get some mass routing the moment the primary frontlines clash. There are more such as "mighty blow" and "surging blow" in athletics and some great combos such as "foot work" (polearm) combined with "fleet of foot" (one handed) and of course "form fitting armor" (athletics) that turn you into a melee kiting god. So, I just started playing again after over a year away. I got tired of the updates every 5 secs that made my mods not work. Now most of the quality of life mods I used to have are implemented in game! YAY So the first edition I started back on was 1.6.0. The only major issue I had was the Conspiracy War Party crash. That thankfully has been fixed 1.6.1, but now I noticed when using a couched lance, I cannot steer my horse. Go back to 1.6.0 and steering works fine. To preface, I love this game a lot, I have enjoyed playing it a lot and have 75 hours or something like that on it now. Just warning other people so losing hours of progress doesn't happen to them like it does to me. I had a battle where I had 3x troop strength of an enemy lord, defending a town they were raiding: but because cavalry ai is such dogshit they can't do anything in a village where there are so many obstacles. I understand that some of this is realistic to the extent that cavalry irl wouldn't be as effective in a denser place like a village, but to the extent that it makes you lose a battle where you have 3x numerical strength is ridiculous imo. brief clarifications: it was not the "send troop" autoresolve, which also doesn't work very well. Hi, I am a new player and have no clue how to deal with the endgame. Enemy factions just seem to have an unlimited amount of lords and men, even though the diplomacy page shows our kingdom has more power. For example, I just defeated 3 Vlandian parties of 600 men and then another of 1000 men, but more keep coming. I throw all the lords I capture in the dungeons, but they always seem to somehow just mass more troops. The amount of troops added up in total for my faction (western empire) is probably only 1000 right now, so I don't see how they keep outnumbering us even though we have more power. I've also tried recruiting other lords, but the price is fucking insane. It takes more than 1 million gold for just a tier 4 house, and whatever mercenaries join us to bolster our numbers just end up leaving after like 2 days. Anyone have any advice? Hi, I am a new player and have no clue how to deal with the endgame. Enemy factions just seem to have an unlimited amount of lords and men, even though the diplomacy page shows our kingdom has more power. For example, I just defeated 3 Vlandian parties of 600 men and then another of 1000 men, but more keep coming. I throw all the lords I capture in the dungeons, but they always seem to somehow just mass more troops. The amount of troops added up in total for my faction (western empire) is probably only 1000 right now, so I don't see how they keep outnumbering us even though we have more power. I've also tried recruiting other lords, but the price is fucking insane. It takes more than 1 million gold for just a tier 4 house, and whatever mercenaries join us to bolster our numbers just end up leaving after like 2 days. Anyone have any advice? So I'm a soldier in freelancer (service level 10) and I looked at the mod description again and saw that you can get companions to fight with you in the army depending on what service level you are. I can't get any companions. I can't recruit them in towns and drag them to the army, and my lord is not giving me any as he should. The gane actively punishes me for maneuvering and encircling the enemy. Wish there was a way to even turn down the reinforcements. Hi all, My game freezes when enemy reinforces are spawned in and all my army is on them. I tried with 1000 and 600 men in battle. I have almost all my men as riders and if I'm on top of the enemy when they spawn in, my game just freezes. Does not happen when the enemy does not require reinforcements to be loaded. I try to force them to attack me (because this happens when I attack them) but if the balance of power is not in their favor, I can't fore them without me being the attacker. So I started courting a girl in game and managed to make it through the first set of questions no issues. Came back to the same person after a day of killing bandits near by and continued the courtship with critical failure after critical failure. I reloaded 10 times, picking only the answers with the highest success chance of 57% and some green traits that i'm guessing matched with her own and 10 out of 10 failed. So I married Liena of the Vlandians while she was out fighting. Daddy dey Tihr said yes and she was supposedly sent to Sargot. However she’s not in Sargot or in my party so I seem to be unable to set her as governor to try and get around the bug. So I found - what is to my knowledge - the best horse in the game. I didn't buy it, I just randomly found it while travelling on the campaign map. Lots of the fighting is just chasing guys down. It's annoying. I wish they would fight to the last man. Is it lower ranked opponents who're more likely to run? The AI combat seems a bit silly, even on veteran, like they'll either run at you with no caution until one of you is dead, or run away in a perfect straight line even when you go in front of them. Could they not add some movement upgrades where they circle you, do more back an forth, generally respond better? My apologies if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find anything myself that addressed this specific point. In Bannerlord I've noticed several times that I can gain influence through clan supporters (notables that support your clan). I'm curious if anyone has any insight on how to gain supporters? Intuitively, I would think it's related to relation you establish through quests, defending villages, etc. But I'm wondering if anyone can provide a more definitive answer on how to gain more supporters. So I was messing around with cheats and I wanted to make a busted as hell character. I had done it in the past with getting all the skills up to about 3-400 and it was a lot of fun. so this time i put some 0s on the cheat and got all the way to 1023 (I think the upper limit you can get) AT FIRST everything was fine, the game was easy, I was making money from troop upkeep, my javelins did 2000 damage, all that good stuff. however once I got to the Lord stage of the game I made a horrible realization. My great big axe swung so fast that the game's physics engine couldn't handle it. I would swing so fast and not hit anyone despite being right in front of me. theres nothing to be done for this save file at this point which makes me very sad, learn from my mistakes. Hi guys, I havent played this game in a while because the game always stutters, if I enter a town, buy something, If I am in the middle of a fight or whenever someone gets hit I get little stutters that destroy my experience, and I've had them previously back on 1.4-something, and I have them now on 1.6.1, its completely annoying and I see people on youtube having an smooth experience, but I can't get that following any tutorial on youtube, can someone help?
