I don’t think that M&B: Bannerlord will be released. Going off the devblogs there’s certainly some functional components, but it doesn’t appear to be anywhere near a tangible product.
In 2016 they put the Store page up on Steam. It is 2019 and there is no release in sight. The game was announced in 2012.
The ONLY release news from them had been for a Multiplayer Beta. The only item they have shown off at Gamescom has been the Multiplayer beta.
I believe that the multiplayer/battle part of Bannerlord has been done and polished for quite some time, but that the Singleplayer is nowhere near a finished product.
We said in 2016, that with the store page that THIS is the year!
Then we said in 2017, it may be 2018.
Then in 2018 we said we hope for 2019.
And in 2019 we are praying for 2020-2021.
The previous community manager had quit with rumours of stagnancy in the development, although those are just rumours.
What is true is that we complained about the developments silence for a year and we got Blog posts that I believe were meant for legitimate insight and now are just being used to keep us from becoming suspicious.
People say the Blog posts are getting worse and worse because the game is ticking closer and closer. How does that make any sense? That seems rather naive. Wouldn’t they be getting worse and worse because they’re trying to dampen expectations? Less backlash?
They’ll keep us asking “Bannerlord when” for another 4-5 years until we all slowly lose faith while understanding it will never come to fruition rather then a cancellation of the game which would make the community go nuclear.
Bannerlord will NEVER be released.
