Ever a man of the people, King Renaud toured the streets of Praven. Since the abdication of King Harlaus and his ascension, Renaud had moved his court to the old seat of Swadian power as a gesture of continuinty, legitimacy and stability – but as he wandered through the streets, he saw the signs of Swadia’s faltering power. Market stalls and Merchant’s carts once heavy with delicate silks, exotic spices and princely dyes were left abandoned. A gust of wind howled through the abandoned tenements, and the grave silence gave way to the yearning of rotting wood and cold hearths.
It was here that this son of Swadia swore that she would see her wholesome days again. His reign, after all, had not been without trouble – Dukes and petty nobles vying for power challenged his every weakness, and though he had subdued the open calls for rebellion, he knew the price of any misstep. His next move could win him his Kingdom, or lose him his life. North, he thought, …and in Old Vlandia, a new life.
Along a lonely coastal road, a northbound caravan found itself suddenly over-encumbered with Huscarls. A fearsome Jarl waded through the dead mercenaries and villagers, and with a sturdy rub and a mighty swing, split asunder one of the great barrels set on a wagon. He stooped to taste the viscous fluid that sprung forth – “Fruits preserved in syrup – enough of it to satisfy an army, and on the road to our borders… bring them all to my tent” the Jarl beckoned to his Huscarls
“All of it, Lord? There must be a dozen orchards worth here, can the men have but one barrel?”
“…No.”
In Meta Terms
Welcome to the 43rd Calradic Campaign! This event will see the Swadians and Nords clash for control over Old Vlandia!
If the Nords win in the field, they will have a chance at reclaiming Chalbek castle. If the Swadians win the field, they will lay siege to Jelbegi castle.
/u/RookishKnight will lead the Swadians, and /u/Smug_Alpaca will lead the Nords. A marshal will be appointed if any cannot attend.
The event will start with a ceremonial duel between the faction leaders. Then, a best-of-7 field battle to determine who will attack in the siege. The siege will be best-of-3.
To join the event, just join the server! There are no sign-ups required, and while it is recommended to join voice chat for bants and vague tactics, it isn't required.

The Calradic Campaign team is always looking for new additions, whether it be scene makers, technical wizards, writers, or anything else of use.
Particularly, we are always looking for mapping talent. Don't be constrained by our regular format either, get creative - an unorthodox battle map, a new dueling map, a really innovative use of an underused game mode, anything!

Donating to the Calradic Campaign
The Calradic Campaign server is our own, and we run it ourselves on a donation basis as we have for years. We now have a Patreon that you can put in a monthly or one time amount to contribute. There are multiple reward tiers with more coming, and with a larger pool of money we can expand our community events (like Mod Night!) as well as preparing for the expected high server costs of Bannerlord.
