This will not stand!
The chamber filled with indignation
This so-called King has abandoned his responsibilities to this house and confounded the peers of this realm! Dams sabotaged, our lands flooded, crops and peasants drowned! What will we do when winter comes, or a Vaegir siege army -
Another stood from across the chamber;
Veluca will not see hide nor hair of the Vaegirs. The flooding has turned the roads south from Ergellon and Grunwalder into a marsh, and the woods around the city have been logged. The loss of those lands, though regrettable, will prevent any siege equipment from reaching the walls of the city...
The response lowered the uproar to a discontented murmur.
Shame, and eternal shame! We bring ruin to our own lands rather than bring the war to the Vaegirs. When will this reprobate of a King march on Grunwalder?
The heavy doors of the chamber gave way to a breathless messenger -
The King calls upon the Senate - he swears before the gods that the Rhodok heartlands are safe, and so he gathers the armies to go on the offensive. Ride, to Veluca!
Ey, ukhnyem! Ey, ukhnyem!
Once more, once again -
one more crest, one more hill!
The mountains carried a doleful chorus over the hills of Vyincourd. Strange tongues and foreign chants reverberated against the towering mountains the Counts call home. The crack of the whip and the cries of pain moved, step by step, great columns of wretched men up the slopes.
Yeshcho razik, yeshcho da raz!
Through narrow passes and steep hills, a great host of slaves hauled materials for rams, towers, trebuchets, and all the devices of a siege. An unfastened log or a loose stone would send unfortunate souls to their god. The guards made up for in cruelty what they lacked in number, raining blows and abuse upon the prisoners sooner than give them water or rest. The Boyars would not suffer their soldiers endure this march, but what were these prisoners but more mouths to feed?
Razovyom my byeryozu, Razovyom my kudryavu!
The terrible laments drew the eyes and ears of distant mountain shepherds, who stood in horror as they saw this pitiable mass heave across their land. They knew the price of those that ran to tell the Counts of their interloper's intent - even if they could outrun the warbow, could their wives, their children?
Ai-da, da ai-da, Ai-da, da ai-da,
Great engines of war ground against the dirt, defying the abased's backs with every strain. Slaves, countless and nameless, gave out their lament as the Boyars kept time and whip over their captives. Blood and toil will bring fire and death to the walls of Veluca - but will the rest of the army greet them there?

As their voices rose, and the years of toil and pain sang out, for a moment that terrible refrain sounded almost triumphant.

In Meta Terms
Welcome to the 45th Calradic Campaign! This event will be a major clash between the Rhodoks and the Vaegirs!
If they repel the Vaegirs in the field, they will have their much anticipated chance at liberating Grunwalder and Ergellon castle. If the Vaegirs break through the Rhodok defences, Veluca will come under siege.
/u/Saultnami will lead the Vaegirs, and /u/Perjunkie will lead the Rhodoks. A marshal will be appointed if any cannot attend.
The event will start with a ceremonial duel between the faction leaders. Then, a best-of-7 field battle to determine who will attack in the siege. The siege will be best-of-3.
To join the event, just join the server! There are no sign-ups required, and while it is recommended to join voice chat for banter and vague tactics, it isn't required.

Becoming Involved in the Calradic Campaign
The Calradic Campaign team is always looking for new additions, whether it be scene makers, technical wizards, writers, or anything else of use.
Particularly, we are always looking for mapping talent. Don't be constrained by our regular format either, get creative - an unorthodox battle map, a new dueling map, a really innovative use of an underused game mode, anything!
If you'd like to contribute your area of expertise, be sure to join our Discord to connect with the members of our team. Many of us earned our positions by bringing something new to the Campaign. We hope you'll join us in continuing one of the top community events in Warband!
Bannermen
There are many new faces since Gamescom, and if you are interested in becoming more closely involved a faction's effort in the campaign, join our discord and request to be made a bannermen of your favourite faction. You will be notified when ad-hoc skirmishes are taking place, and it is a good way to get to know your fellow warriors and learn from years of experience.
Donating to the Calradic Campaign
The Calradic Campaign server is our own, and we run it ourselves on a donation basis as we have for years. We have a Patreon that you can put in a monthly or one time amount to contribute. There are multiple reward tiers, and with a larger pool of money we can run our community events (like Mod Night!) as well as preparing for the expected high server costs of Bannerlord.
