Don't get companions system

Please forgive me if the information is easily googled, but so far I had no luck at all, including wiki.

1) How to up the cap? 3 companions is too little (same goes for soldiers, but I guess higher renown will help, though one person per 25 renown is way too punishing imo); 2) visiting the city where the companions should be like rn, according to the Encyclopedia. They aren't in the tavern. Get to the other side of the map - here they are. But the current location in Encyclopedia changes only when I meet them by chance. Is there a way too ACTUALLY find them? 3) how do I make the smithing companion actually work in the smithy? also, where do I get all these resources?

Reinstalled the game recently and have been getting the error message above. I'm able to launch the game but once I click on "new game" it crashes and shows error. I have some mods download and have checked to make sure they're updated to the current version. I've also made sure to unblock all dll files. Old Realms mod crash

Hi everyone I've been trying to get the Old Realms mod to work the last couple of hours. I changed my bannerlord patch to match mod (1.6.2). Everytime I try to boot it up, it reaches the "Old Realms" loading screen for a couple of seconds, then crashes..
