I am not the main character in my own campaign.

This bloke was hired by a mercenary clan working for Rhagaea. Then he and Rhagaea fell in love and had 3 kids. Then he also fell in love with another women in Rhagaea's clan, and married her into the mercenary clan. I am not the main character, Euchor the Surgeon is. The mods that made this happen are Living Wanderers and Dramalord. submitted by /u/Glorf_Warlock [link] [comments]

Capturing X enemies of a certain type is an awful quest

I can't tell my soldiers to try to take a particular type of soldier alive -- only all or nothing. If I tell them to just use blunt, then my troops are at an extreme disadvantage. If I don't, then it's a crapshoot.

Ignoring that, it's a separate, crappier crapshoot to see if I can even find an enemy army I can take on, and when I find one, I need to hope it has the rank and kind that I need.

But the most infuriating thing is when I am sent to capture spearmen and trained spearmen won't do. Apparently knowing which end of the stick to poke into the enemy makes them too good to trade away. Damn I wish I could just hand over any kind of troop. Or maybe I could just buy that troop from a ransom broker.

Above all, it pisses me off that I lose face for declining this type of quest in the first place. I can't tell my king, "with respect, I am a soldier, not a manhunter" or "fetch quests can burn in hell."

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
