What should I do here?

I’m a vasal with the Khuzaits and I feel like the AI is not doing me any favors. We were at war with Sturgia and the Aserai at the same time which was a nightmare because everyone was running north and south. Not at war with Sturgia anymore but as soon as we made peace with them Monchug went and declared war with the western empire. I have 15 fiefs and they all border the western empire. So while every place I own is getting attacked Monchug and all the other assholes have been fighting over Shibal Zumr Castle. One side takes it and back and forth so most of the army is over there. And I’m in the same situation over at Onica castle. I own it but they take it and then I take it back. No one is getting anywhere. I want to go on the offensive and take Zeonica but I just don’t have enough people and I don’t think I can get anymore. Any tips for this stalemate? And where do all their troops keep coming from? They keep coming with 1100 troop armies and I keep destroying them, shouldn’t the...

Do any mods work with 1.1.0?

Steam updated "something" in the game, about an hour ago. I was happy with released v1.0.3, but suddenly I started getting issues, so I made the mistake of updating every mod to their latest version. They then started complaining about needing 1.1 and the launcher wouldn't work any more. I said screw it, switched to the Beta. Constant crashes, with me selectively removing one mod after the next, until I was left only with Diplomacy and unlimitedCAP, which let me continue my game. Well, sort of, since the UI looked off (perhaps safe mode, not sure) and the game crashed as soon as I opened the inventory. I'm now going back to 1.0.3, but Steam will eventually force me to update, which means no more mods? Or is it that I need to start a brand new game? submitted by /u/Chris-1235 [link] [comments]

[Help Wanted] So I've been kicking around an idea...

Been playing a lot of RP style campaigns lately, and going far enough that I end up dipping into my 3rd and 4th generations of my lineage. By doing so, I've had the chance to spec out hundreds of family members. Just the other day it finally dawned on me, there's a lot of untapped potential that I wasn't digging into. There's more to a family member build than being a Governor or a Warrior , and there's a lot more to being a Governor than having high Charm & Steward. Sifting through the Perks, there's a lot of opportunities to create highly specialized family members to fill specific niche roles. A lot of the perks have an either/or option, a fork in the road, leading you down one path or another. Others are more specific, such as Governor perks, some are Town or Castle specific, while others broadly state they're for Settlements. Which can lead to specific builds intended for niche roles. For example: City Governor vs. Castle Governor, Peace Time Go...

Companions that are a MUST HAVE

This list is based off of my personal experiences in the game and how I use wanderers, I thought I should post this after making a comment similar to this and thought others might like to know. Caravaners These are companions that have high trade and scouting. Trade is important for better trade deals on their routes and scouting is important for navigating through enemy territory or running from looters. Charm/roguery is good but not a deal breaker (it helps them get out of conflicts with bandit troops. These include companions name ending with “swift”, “silkvendor”, and sometimes “cow thief” Party tacticians These companions are good leaders and fighters to have in your own party. (I personally do not like to give orders to my army in battle so I just press F6 and let my companions take control). With this being said, must have traits are high tactics and leadership. Xorberax's Legacy Question

Does anyone know how this "interest accrued rate" work? Ive played around with the settings but i still dont understand it. I only opened an account for 3000 gold, dont put any money in it, and every 7 days I just get free money. Is anyone good at figuring out which mod is causing the crash?

Crashes seem to primarily happen when I try to load in a previous save game. For example, I could put 6 hours into gameplay then save and quit, then the next time I load it up it crashes on the loading screen.. :( I'm not entirely sure what crash report would help the most so if you know where to look to find it let me know and I will attach it to the tread. I have a list of the mods I am using below. Any help is greatly appreciated, I am having so much fun with the mods for the time I can play but just can't load back in. How might I go about effectively creating my own kingdom in or around sturgian lands?

Right now I'm a vassal of the sturgians, I've had a few different fiefs but they were always in heavily contested border areas so I never held them for long although I do hold Vladiv castle for right now. But anyways I'm role-playing this run as an ambitious sturgian warlord who is sick of ragnavad's mismanagement of the kingdom and his inability to centralize the confederation of princes into a strong polity. So my question is this: How do i take over the leadership of sturgia or preferably create my own kingdom in or around the sturgian lands without having to fight all their lords and lose the relationship I've built up. Well I think I may have just hit a wall with Bannerlord (console player)

I’ve played this game 4 time since getting it before Christmas and I loved it. But I’m going through my 4th play through and I’m feeling more and more disheartened every time I play. Me and the companions I’ve grown are you n their 40’s and will die soon. I have 3 daughters that aren’t even of age yet and I have no idea why the hell id want to put myself through starting a kingdom even a part of me wants to. I’m at 11 million denars, 10 companions, 9 towns and 6 castles. Why would I need to start a kingdom at all other than to get armies. I feel the cons outweigh the pros. Is it time to start rolling heads?

I’m on console, I’ve successfully completed the conspiracy quest line whilst aligned with the Southern Empire, and Aserai, Vlandia, and Sturgia are locked in constant war with me. My kingdom divides itself between taking formerly khuzait rebel cities back and fighting over Shibal Zumr castle exclusively. I am waging a one man war against the sturgians. There seems to be nothing but grind forever with bad AI allies. Should I just start chopping the 20 or so lords in my party? I have no interest in calling an army, so I don’t believe it matters a whole lot what my relations are with others. [Perisno] Caravan runs are Underrated.

If you are ever short on money, especially in the mid-game where you confidently holds 90-120 mid/top tier troops, and an array of companions, do caravan runs! to start, go to a tavern of a city, talk to the barkeeper, and ask for goods shipment (should be one of the option near the bottom of the dialogue choices), deliver it to a city of your choice (farther the better), and talk to the barkeep of the recipient city and ask for sale of the goods. I recommend having a decently strong party (90-120 mid/top tier troops) first to not rely on outrunning, since caravans gets HEAVY the more expensive your goods wagon are. and a sizeable capital (Bare minimum is 8k, maximum is 25k) to buy your first goods. Caravan runs are different from trading, since price is almost a guaranteed profit the farther you deliver the goods from your starting point. As an example, i had 103 of a decent dwarven army, bought goods worth ~6.3k ish from the barkeeper in Dwallnor, and hauled those all the way to Gro...

Anyone know where to get a bow with no skill required?

I legit cannot find a bow below 15 skill points haha. Even basic light bows are too much. So my predicament is I cannot level Archery if I don't actually have a bow I can use... Fun stuff. Tried arena but even killing a bunch of dudes in it doesn't net me a darn thing. Quite honestly I feel my skills aren't improving and I won't 250g like 10 times and got nothing skill wise. Tournaments sure, but practice nope. PS speaking of Tournaments and practice arena... Does that pass the time in game? On a few occasions I have won between 50-60k from tournaments I have lost, but a companion ended up winning. Can someone explain this to me? 2nd playthrough and I own most of Vlandia as a vassal of Battania, now what?

This is my 2nd campaign settings are set at Realistic with deaths to try and give myself a bit more of a challenge. Decided to play north, my last campaign was mostly Southern Empire so I picked Vlandia as my heritage and joined Battania as a vassal after being a merc for them. Over the course of two wars, they basically gave me almost all of Vlandia. ​ Is the game tempting me to declare a new kingdom? I'm still only a tier 4 clan. I probably wouldn't even consider doing that till I was 5 or even 6 rank so I can have the extra parties. Is there a limit to starving out troops in a seige?

I'm campaigning in Aseri lands, half their forces were up north and I trapped the other half in a castle that had 0 food to start with. I had a month's worth. After a few days their numbers just stopped dropping and occasionally would creep up a but. No one got near the castle to supply them that I could see. I ended up having to cut my losses and walk away. Side note... Jesus do their archers have hard heads. Taking 2 headshots from a noble longbow with balanced piercing arrows and still going. Why can mercenaries broker peace?

So I was contracted as a mercernary for the Western Empire whilst they were at war with Ergeon's Clan, rulers of the city-state of Seonon. I was about to fight Ergeon when I decided to see what he'd say if I asked for peace. To my surprise, the bargain menu opened and, sure enough, peace was on the table. I asked for all his denars, horses and his cow in exchange for peace and he readily accepted. Then came the notification "The Western Empire and Ergeon's Clan have made peace." Surely there's no way a lowly merc could possibly convince Emperor Galios that the treaty he drafted is valid and that he should lay off on Ergeon, especially since he gets nothing in exchange. I'm not even a vassal so I have no right to speak for the Kingdom in any way shape or form. The ability to do this make it theoretically possible to secure the independence of Seonon and make a quick buck by contracting for whoever they're at war with, trading for peace then leaving ...

Money Glitch? Please Help!

I've tried googling but couldn't find anyone else with this issue so here I am. I used the console commands to give myself some money, it maxed out at 2.4B. I don't own any workshops or fiefs or anything other than my mercenary band. Everything is fine until the it's time to pay the troops after a battle, then suddenly all my money disappears along with all my morale as I was unable to pay my parties wages and I somehow owe them an insane amount of money. I add more money and it just happens again as soon as a day passes. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Is there a way to fix it? Is the command console just broken? First impressions of Bannerlord (Xbox)

It's great and I think it deserves a lot of praise for being quite unique- I don't know of any other games like it, in the way that it combines various game genres. In a way it's the game I've always wished they made- every time I played the Total War games (mostly Rome 2, Medieval 2, and Shogun) I always wanted to be able to enter and live in the world rather than see it from outside. ​ The battles and combat is also very fun and it's satisfying to get kills, especially when you hurl a javelin and knock someone off their horse. Music and graphics also quite good, and the game seems to run very smoothly. ​ The only criticism I'll write about for now is that perhaps the game could do more to explain things to you. de Re Militari and open source armory issues

I would like to use the open source armory mod in combination with de Re Militari/RBM mod. If I put open source armory before de Re Militari and RBM the game crashes on start. If I put it behind them the open source pieces are not affected which renders them "useless". Won war but got captured

took me forever to win this battle cause my troops sucked compared to the others but I slowly took out the 30 that where left while trying not to lose my last bit of health to an arrow, won the battle pressed tab then done and was immediately captured Im guessing it’s cause I didn’t have anyone left but it’s kinda dumb that I killed everyone of them and somehow I’m captured is it impossible to win a battle with just yourself? You guys ever regret a battle?

I just realised that the guy I killed earlier (my first noble kill) was the son of the King of Valandia. I was running away from him at the time and fought a much smaller party that just so happened to be led by his son. I actually feel bad about this cause I asked him his views on politics and he said that he wants his son to have a peaceful reign but I've killed his son. Worst part is that I'm Vlandian. How do I explain this when I ask to become his vassal? I actually considered reloading the save since I couldn't escape him but I felt too proud about killing a noble to do so. What is up with the conspiracy caravans

I've encountered these things twice and they're by far the strongest armies I have ever fought in this game. I just suddenly get a very time-limited quest for this and somehow the conspiracy has formed a caravan of 140 people, moves super fast, and has some of the most absurd units I have ever seen in this game. The bearskin conspirators literally just obliterate my army and I have no clue how I'm supposed to fight this. They're way stronger than they should be for a super limited time quest. Tired of the constant warring. What's the downside to executing all my prisoners? Can I wipe out clans and kingdoms this way?

The warmongering AI is tiresome to deal with. My stupid ass kingdom decided going to war against a nation paying for our previous war was a great idea, despite the fact we were already at war with 3 other nations. So I'm ending it all. Questions as mentioned in the title. Is there any reason not to wipe every family off the map? I've executed half a dozen members of the western empire and now I have the deceitful trait. Can't enter specific amounts of money when bartering (Xbox)

So this is a problem that I've run into a few times but hasn't really given me much trouble until just now where I have no choice. I have close to a million denars, and I want to barter for the release of a prisoner, it's going to take a few thousand denars, less than 10,000 but close to it. I don't mind paying a couple extra thousand, but with the sliding scale, I go from 3,000 to 32,000 with my most gentle tap of the stick. Obviously there is a field you can enter a specific number, but on the Xbox version, it doesn't work, because when you type the numbers you want and hit enter, it's the same as the pause button, which simultaneously pauses the game and clears out the number you typed to barter with. Does anyone know a workaround? I know you can use the + button to add to the value, but I really don't want to spend minutes just trying to get to a denars value of 9,000 submitted by /u/trueAnnoi [link] [comments]

Empire rejuvenates too quickly

I'm in the endgame and can't seem to gain ground against the empire. I'm playing Sturgia and I'm currently the king. However, every time I take a city or castle they either take one of mine or come in with a giant army. Even with cheese tactics, such as waiting for them to attack then infiltrating the castle to lock them into a 1-sided duel, they come back just as strong a day later. Fellow Xbox players, how do you enable KB&M support on this game. I have keyboard and mouse connected to the console. Please help me with a bug that has been terrorizing me for over half a year now

Forum posts say that this was fixed in patch 1.7.2 but all of the characters still have their eyes closed. Khuzait ka-put!

So I’m not a huge fan of Khuzait because they spank me. But currently they were getting spanned and I don’t like a kingdom getting too much power, so I became a merc for them and started spanking the Northern Empire. After the war was through I took on a job for a Khuzait noble to bring back someone who kissed him off. Once I defeated him he offered double the denars….. well, I’m a merc so of course I’d take it. Unfortunately, for the Khuzait, that started a war. So far I have 14 of their lords. I’m just waiting for a fair negotiation which will never come. I’m unsure what to do since I don’t have no fiefs. Asking the state of the game to know if I come back

As the title say I stoped playing because I was a bit bored after so many hour and I’m recently kinda wondering if I could comeback but I need to know if the problem anoying me are fixed 1) can we finaly choose what amry come first ex I lead an army of 1000 and we face on of 2000 can I say my soldier comer first and the peasant of my ally after ( seing my fian don’t come at the start was rly rly annoying ) 2) is their any mod making diplomacy and end game less of a pure hell , I know diplomacy mod existed before but it wasn’t soo usefull . 3) did the update rate calmed ? Must have mods that enhance, add or expand features?

Ive noticed A.I. have a tendency to declare war so often that it kinda takes you out of the immersion. Reoccurring income seems to be limited to caravans or workshops, but it would be nice to have more options as far as roleplaying goes. More factions/troops would be awesome as well as armor and weapons. Difficulty With RBM Armor

I've been using tournaments as a means to get better armor and even with a 46 armor headpiece I'm always being one-shotted from a single face-hit. I had a test save where I bought the strongest helmet I could afford and even with a goggled full-head helmet, with no visible openings, I'm still being one shot. Mind you, this is earlier in the game, but it's incredibly frustrating that enemies have highly functional armor with crappy skullcaps and my full helmets are always made of paper. Help with mods. New player

I just got the game through xbox gamepass. Im having issues with mods. I tried manually extracting the files into modules but most of the mods couldn't find the necessary mod files to actually work. Then I figured i would just use vortex but i cant add the game to my managed game list. Vortex cant find the game launcher. Anybody have a solution or a link to a guide that can assist me? Thanks! What is the USP of Vlandia?

Hello all, I've been playing with the various factions and they all seem to have their own niche except for Vlandia. From what I can tell the cavalry is inferior to the Empire cavalry, their crossbows whilst good are not game changers, and their infantry is mid tier when compared to other factions. ​ I've tried various combinations of armies and just can't seem to find much success. You seem to have to rely rather heavily on cavalry and crossbows, however that means that your shield wall gets smaller and smaller, meaning eventually it reaches a critical mass where it is gets punched through too quickly for your crossbows to be able to make a difference. I'm not sure about the ratios of cavalry to infantry/crossbows but I was trying 40% infantry, 40% crossbow, 20% cavalry and having very 'meh' results. If anyone knows a better ratio it'd be greatly appreciated. The tactics I've been using are to have a loose long line of crossbows and move an infantry...

Best version for mods?

I'm looking for what version you guys think has the most mods available. I tried the most recent version and there seems to be almost nothing available for 1.0.3 and even the ones that said they are compatible in the description, were not (banner kings and mod config menu). Should I just change it to v1.0.0? Battle of Rhotae Wood - 3 Summer 1101

This tapestry depicts a fallen Sturgian Warrior lying next to a forgotten Vlandian banner after the Battle of Rhotae Wood on 3 Summer 1101. The Sturgians and Vlandians had been at war for over a year, and this was the first in a series of heavy defeats that the Vlandians were able to inflict, breaking the Sturgian siege of Rhotae in the process. The Vlandians had the smaller force with just under 1000 men whereas contemporary estimates place the Sturgian numbers at around 1350. Liege is cockblocking me ever since I declared dragon banner for him.

Ever since I took up the dragon banner for Raganvad of Sturgia, he has stopped giving me feifs. I have probably conquered 25 towns and castles since I started my jihad against empire and have not received a single one of them. Happened to anyone else? Any solutions? Any mods similar to Banner Kings and RBM?

I liked both mods. Banner Kings add a feudal heirarchy, it made kingdoms more in-depth. RBM made the AI smarter about controlling armies. They seemed like they'd be a really good pair of mods to improve the game. But Banner Kings crashes almost any time I interact with its settlement management stuff. RBM crashes anytime someone misses a throw with a javelin. I've tried them on their own, nothing else installed, etc. They're the right versions for the game, all that. I just can't get them to be stable enough to play. Does anyone know any mods that do similar things, even if they don't have the same scope? A mod that just make the AI smarter in battle, without all the other things RBM adds? I just can’t stand Khuzait.

I find this kingdom to be the toughest kingdom to battle by far. Especially when they start gaining power because the stupid AI for Sturgia just stands around drooling as their fiefdom gets taken over. I’m a merc and thought I’d like to help Sturgia regain some land. I am a group of 165 with weak siege skills but I ended up being able to build four trebuchets and beat down the defenders of Sibir. WHILE I was doing this for Sturgia they had parties and parties just passing by me. I assumed a few might join to help, but nope. I just don’t get it. I want to become their vassal so I can combine the parties into an army to lay waste and gain their lands back. But I don’t want to join, I’m more inclined to attack them now. Why are your own lords so ineffective?

It’s first my campaign in bannerlord but I have played previous M&B games so I know the game. I’ve declared my own kingdom and conquered all the Aserai region. The south is mine, then my lords wanted to fight Khuzaits, while fighting them Western declared war on me. It was 9k vs 17k (both of them). While I massacred Khuzait, Western took the newly conquered regions from me because none of my lords are actually doing anything while opponent AI just seizes every opportunity. I also don’t get why my lords don’t recruit armies to their full capacity. They are running with 50-60 troops armies like idiots while I had to kill 700+1100+950 troop armies from Western in 3 sieges. Again, opponent AI recruits then comes to attack while my stupid lords just fool around in the country with 50 troops. Is this a common problem in the game?
