How to setup for a (semi)first run?

Hi there, well I've played M&B years ago and since I've stumbled upon this game I decided to give it another run together with my gf (who usually just want to watch me playing and give hints).

I forgot everything or so about this game, so I need help from you about setupping my brand new M&B Warband with a short list of mods that I'm sure exist to enhance the pure vanilla experience. I'm not looking for full overhauls (just a little interested in GoT one if it's not changing the game too much), you know just better AI or similars.

And if I'm not bothering you too much, I would like some hints about where and how to start my adventure. Again, I'm about to read some guides so I just need short advices without long explanations.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
