Nord Archers & Veteran Archers - they are not as bad you as you expect them to be

When you think about using archers in your party you probably think about Vaegir Marksmen or Sarranid Master Archers. Maybe you even consider leading a horde of Khergit Veteran Horse Archers. But, do you ever consider using Nord Archers?

No, of course you don't. You take one look at them and think "These guys are just inferior to everyone else" which is completely wrong and I'm going to explain why.

Note: This information is completely worthless to players who just use cavalry armies to defeat all their enemies since a full cavalry army is always superior to everything else.

  1. Fast progression: Nord Veteran Archers are tier 4 units, unlike every other faction archers which progress to tier 5. Most people seem to think that this is a bad thing while it's actually a good thing. You get quality units sooner than other factions.

  2. Tier 3 & Tier 4 archers are both useful: Nord Archers and Nord Veteran Archers use different bows which gives them different purposes.
Nord Archers use fast short bows while Nord Veteran Archers use slow long bows. This makes Nord Archers more useful in open field battles when you just want to have a group of ranged units to interrupt enemy infantry attacks and/or break their blocks, allowing your infantry to cut down the enemy with ease.
Nord Veteran Archers are better for siege assaults and defenses because they can hold their ground in melee combat thanks to mail armor and good weapons while also delivering a solid amount of damage from afar.

  3. They are trained from Nord Recruits: If you worked your ass off to gain good relations with Nord villages in order to get a bunch of recruits to train into mighty Nord Huscarls why not take advantage of the option to turn the excess recruits into Archers and Veteran Archers?
They're fantastic when you just want to take a small group of units to hunt down bandits so you don't risk losing Huscarls to random javelin throws or couched lances. Their wages are considerably lower than other archers which means you can have more of them inside your garrisons and you don't have to travel all the way to other lands just to get recruits to train them into archers.

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . For a deep read on the subject see the wiki https://pop3.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Creation Or for a quick "Just...

TaleWorlds Forums

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
