Roads.
There isn't a single road on the whole map. Everyone just runs around all willy-nilly like it's some kind of Target parking lot!
Roads should exist in some form with various party types exhibiting preferential behaviors towards either using or not using them. Additionally, roads could then offer movement bonuses. Nothing extreme, but some small bonus. Make it a strategic choice to either stick to the road or cut through the forest.
Tie them to fief management. Allow for roads to be developed then upgraded between castles/towns and their villages. At the very least towns should be connected. From a lore standpoint you would think that Empire towns at the very least would have roadways developed. Now that I think on it, the pathing/movement speed benefits would help Empire kingdoms with their perpetual "war on all sides" status.
