This might be one of my most interesting playthroughs by far, factions teaming up without alliance. Can someone explain this?

So I started ANOTHER Battania playthrough lol & I finally branch off to go independent with pravend as my capital. I already had ocs hall & caleus castle so I take drapend castle(from vlandia) to secure my border & proceed to verscand castle which belonged to west empire. (Btw I was at war with West E, Battania & Vlandia) so as I'm besieging, a bunch of Battanian parties are trying to run past like they're being called to an army but are getting stuck & won't pass because my army so enough of them get stuck to where they attack me I defeat them so when I attack the case it's empire & battanian troops waiting for me.... Battanians in green with green shields & battanian clan banners with purple empire troops with empire banners I WAS SO DAMN JEALOUSSS but confused because I dont know what happened I looked at diplomacy & they weren't allianced & I checked clans & no battanian mercenaries working for the west. Can someone please explain to me about the mutiny system?

Until this point I'm still playing the ORIGINAL M&B which I don't think has this system, but when I eventually buy M&B: Warband I just wanna get a good grip on this system, so here are my questions: Does the morale loss spread onto the entire army or only the units hail from the faction I'm fighting against? Would this system be irrelevant if I destroy that faction? Any answers or tips would help me become a better player at this game (Theoretically at least), but if you don't wanna answer then please, go on your way. Anyways, I hope you have a good day anyday and everyday and would (Hopefully) also learn something from this too :-).
