I recently saw a mod for this game that adds conversational ai to the game, even letting quests be started among other things. This got me thinking if maybe this is a good thing to integrate in these kinds of sandbox rpgs where there isn't a fixed story or moving voicelines. It could add some immersion and personal stakes if officially integrated and fully fleshed out. I kind of like the idea, what do you think? submitted by /u/Busy-Blacksmith5898 [link] [comments]
Please consider the pros and cons:
Cons:
- The land is war-torn;
- The setting is 1257 (give or take);
- No guarantees you'll be born into a noble family, or would even survive the winter;
- There's rampant banditry;
- Little-to-no entertainment (less so if you're not a noble);
- Unless you're a more-or-less capable fighter, money is hard to come by;
- Kinda small area, geographically;
- Chummy nobles and even companions;
- Bad food variety;
- No more Zendar.
Pros:
- If you put time and effort into combat training, you can get pretty rich, fairly easily (as either a merc, headhunter, soldier, tourney combatant, or even a merchant);
- You can marry into a noble family and live well among other nobles;
- There' only six nations worth talking about;
- You can have epic sword battles with your nemesis;
- Butter-feasts (obviously);
- Life in your dream-land.
