In Warband, and from what I've read about Bannerlord, you build reputation based only on your in-game actions, either by helping NPCs, or killing bandits, or bribing, etc etc. I really love the idea of another form of reputation for your character that is based on your main attributes and combat feats. Are you playing with a character that has a ton of Strength and has a lot of proficiency with certain weapons? NPCs call you "strong" or "monster" or some kind of nickname that you can also get to choose when your reputation threshold reaches that certain point. The same for a good archer, or a good horse rider. And those nicknames can have a few effects, like for example if you are known for your use of a two-handed zweihander, some enemies will run, or cower, or if you are known to be a very good diplomat, then NPCs/soldiers will try to protect you at all costs because you are an important influencing personality for example.
I don't expect from such a system (if it was present) to be a core mechanic, but mostly something that gives that nice flavor to your role-playing. Do you remember Game of Thrones? (of course you do). Wouldn't you like to make your flamboyant one handed sword user have a reputation similar to that of Jaime Lannister's? Or also, your monstrous STR two handed greatsword behemoth be feared for his monstrous battle power like Gregor Clegane and have people call you with nicknames or their dialogues showing certain attitudes towards you? Are you honorable with lots of charisma? You are called "the honorable" and you are somewhat like Ned Stark, with people trusting you more, and dying for you in battle.
You get the idea.
