Hows the weapon balance these days?

I haven't played in awhile. I used to run a mod that allowed you to cleave multiple enemies with most 2H weapons, which was great fun. However, they seem to be outdated now. So my question is, is it still only 2H axes that can cleave? I can't find any new information on that online.

Also, any suggestions for weapon types if I want to just be a barbaric machine of death? Cheers!
