Warband: Heavy vs Light Shields

Are there any other differences between heavy and light shields than hit points, resistance and speed? If I have 13+ shield skill, which means shields don't take damage anymore (104% damage reduction), is it always preferable to use a light shield of the same size? Are there maybe other advantages to heavy shields than just hp and res? E.g. less likely to stagger when blocking or less likely to break through with a heavy weapon or a crossbow etc.?
