Mods with only one Kingdom

I know the whole point of MnB is the chaos and politics of different kingdoms, BUT i was wondering if there are any mods with only one major kingdom or just 2 for a rebellion type playthrough. Noob question here, but how do you get your armies even bigger?

I always get to about 100 men or so, and i'm not really sure how to grow from there on out. So i always end up stuck in this middle stage where doing small jobs pay too little and going after anything larger will get my army killed.
