Ideas how to make enemy tactics better?

Currently, the enemy AI is the most dangerous, when they just blindly charge at me. If they defend, they just stand around and wait for my crossbows to kill them, while their crossbows are wasting time and ammo on my shield guys. If they attack, they often try to slowly flank me or something, but this also gives my crossbows time to kill them and they sometimes get bunched up and confused near the invisible wall (map border). I changed the AI so that they always charge at me like bandits and it is better now, but this still means their cavalry and archers run ahead of infantry and get slaughtered by my crossbows first. I already removed all athletics skill from archers, so they run slower, but they are still faster than the shieldmen. I suppose I could just boost the athletics skill of infantry, but I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with solving this problem and how to make AI tactics not stupid? submitted by /u/Waybook [link] [comments]

The Best Armor I have Ever Found

I have played several thousand hours of Bannerlord. This is the only time in all of those hours that I have ever found a Tier 6 Legendary chest armor piece. I found this for sale in a town. Luckily, I had the money to purchase it. I don't know if I will ever see its like ever again. submitted by /u/Significant_Brick868 [link] [comments]

What are the amazing, game fixing mods I hear about?

So many reviews I see talk about "game only good with mods" kind of rhetoric. All I can find that seem truly mandatory are diplomacy and dismemberment. RBM looks pretty cool but I feel like it's a similar story to Combat Extended in Rimworld... it's mainly for people that literally can't pallete the vanilla offering. I think Bannerlord's combat is awesome so I don't want that changed. I've seen better garrisons but found it confusing and not necessary (to me). I wanted to check out My Little Warband but idk if the new patch has borked it or not so I'm just not going to try. I don't like GOT, LOTR or any total conversion mods really. After the obvious ones, steams top subscribed doesn't really help me in terms of discovery. Anyone help me find the missing pieces? Because if Diplomacy and Dismemberment are the only two that are mandatory, I feel like the base game is actually pretty good and not "only good with mods" submit...

Anyone else have No quests/ all towns 90-100 security?

I started a new campaign for the first time since war sails released and I almost immediately noticed many quests were not generating. No transport merchants, caravan ambush, army of poachers, extortion by deserters, etc. only quests were gang leader. Thats when I noticed these quests weren’t spawning because they require certain persmaters like security < 50 or something (I made this value up) and almost every settlement in the game is sitting at or close to 100 security. It really makes the early game a slog and towns have no chance to rebel because security is too high. I think it’s mostly due to huge garrison sizes, did TW change something with town security or how many troops get donated to garrisons or something ? submitted by /u/Straight-eerie [link] [comments]

I thought the game had to many kingdoms to keep track of, so I fixed that.

War Sails question

Might be a dumb one, but how to balance my weight in a way that would grant me a good cavalry on land and solid speed at sea? The troops' mounts debuff is killing me and I can't have 20 knarrs or other shallow draft ships with big weight capacity and that's a debuff of it's own. Really not sure how to be powerful both on land and at sea submitted by /u/RandomKazakhGuy [link] [comments]

What do you think about this? It is from my WIP submod

Greetings, lords and ladies of Calradia... or perhaps I should say Pendor? The 6 fief requirement has been removed, only being a King or Queen, that holds land is required to have these options, and of course if you manage to take a monarch prisoner. If you are a monarch with land, you see the 1st picture, if you are a monarch but holds no lands, you'll see the 2nd picture, if you are not a monarch, you'll see the 3rd picture. And the last picture is the options menu. A few months ago, I found myself making edits and applying tweaks to Prophesy of Pendor from its fandom page, and it turned into what I would consider a decent submod. I plan to share all the changes very soon. I think this new feature is one of the most prominent ones, so I would love to see what the community thinks about it. submitted by /u/KaizerfromCrete [link] [comments]

I am a vassal of The Vale, and even though we are at war with 2 kingdoms, my kingdom hasn't made a single army so far. [War Sails] How do you designate which ship you want to be your "flagship" that you control at the start of joined battles?

Basically any battle that doesn't pause at the beginning and let you choose ships... is there a way to set which ship you default to controlling, and for that matter, which ships join the battle altogether? So far it seems like the ships I chose previously are what get chosen, which is great, but it doesn't put me in the one I was controlling before, and I don't know which companions are captaining the other two Basically I'm just really stoked I finally got a ship with a ballista and wanna sit back and pew pew at some boats, but the AI is stealing my fun submitted by /u/_kickedout [link] [comments]

Troop Tree Reskin

I’m putting together a full reskin for the troop trees in the most recent War Sails/Bannerlord version. I’m using RBM with True Levies as a base. I’m integrating EBA, BUA, and the weaponry file from OSA with their respective RBM patches. I’ll be going through each individual unit from Looters to Knights and integrating them with modded armour and weapons, keeping as close as I can to the native True Levies values. There will likely be more dependencies when I’m finished. Would anyone be interested in a final product? submitted by /u/Even-Leg8145 [link] [comments]

Ever since the update in June (vWar Sail 1.2.6), all of my saves look like a shadow, even if I make a brand new campaign without mods

Pictured above is a brand new save that has no mods at all, that I just made a few minutes ago. Normally, I would see this shadow when I would be using an outdated save with either outdated mods or an outdated game version. But for some reason, for all of my new saves since June, I've been seeing this, even after making new saves with no mods at all. It doesn't seem to effect anything. Everything still works. Even when I use mods. It's just cosmetic. But it's just weird. submitted by /u/FreeReign0121 [link] [comments]

Siege Engines, Broken Walls, and My Horse Kestane

This was one of the most chaotic mounted siege fights I have recorded in Bannerlord. Once the siege engines opened the way, I stayed on Kestane and followed the assault into the fort instead of dismounting. Fighting through the defenders on horseback was difficult, but it created some unexpectedly cinematic moments. Kestane is the chestnut warhorse I used throughout this battle. Would you stay mounted here or dismount before entering the fort? submitted by /u/ShieldwallWalker [link] [comments]

I left because it got to a point where more than 1/3 of Aserai strength was just me. Unqid was such a based sultan though.

After yrs of service and defending frontier lands. Aserai nobles grew lazy in their campaigns. Relying only upon the Al Muhajir “the immigrant” to turn the tides, and take home the tributes. As Al Muhajir’s villages burned and Poro starved. They demanded more towns, more sieges from the immigrant general. Knowing that the frontier villages were promised protection by the Emir, with no end insight of the two yr long campaign inside southern empire territory, with wave after wave of guerrilla hit and run from the imperials cutting off the army of supplies. Al Muhajir propose a tribute less peace. But the foolish Aserais blinded by the continuous seige victories, ignoring their depleted frontier villages and garrison. Humiliated the noble frontier general in the kingdom vote. With consultation from his nephews and older brother, Al Muhajir finally chosen to break his oath to the Aserai. Me when my child finally comes of age (I’ve been at war for his entire childhood and only wrote letters as to what he should study)

In all seriousness I just thought about this. Like other than staying at the same settlement as your spouse (which he prolly governs) or have her in your party, it’s never like you are actually AT a settlement for any long period of time. Like in GOT, the war came and went. And then afterwords they returned home and raised a family. But sorry little Jimmy. War is all I’ve ever seen since I was your age. Now go command a new party for me and expect an invite to an army I shall command in a month or so. Or go be a governer at this settlement. It just seems funny how much you are NEVER in your children’s lives. So what's the point of alleys now that sneaking missions exist?

I just came back to the game after a year hiatus, and I'm thrilled they finally actually added mechanics rather than just doing endless bug and balance patches that somehow break every mod with every patch. I discovered the sneaking tutorial, and then found out that basically every stealth kill or every other stealth kill gives a level of roguery. (5 focus points) now I'm wondering what's the point of alleys anymore. They were never particularly good, but at least there was an argument to be made that they increased roguery. But now that I can just go farm hideout stealth missions, earn way more money, keep my companions in my party, and not gain crime in the process, I'm wondering what purpose alleys serve anymore? (Alley income should be ×10 imo) submitted by /u/forfor [link] [comments]

I got my settlement, and learned something new.

So i am playing as Nord and wanted Hargard as my main fief. I had Balgard, but am not a fan of defending that sturgian town. I looked online and found i could either wait for it to be taken and then try to earn it back in a vote, or get to 300 trade skill and buy it off the owner. Figuring how rare I see enemies make it that far north, buying it would be easier. But after a while a clan abandoned the Nord Faction, I was able to take it and win the vote. All in all great for me. What i didnt know though was npc clans can abandon their cultural faction? How often are we crashing because of ships and their related systems on console?

Alright so this is basically just me venting and wondering if anyone else is as annoyed as I am. I've been crashing every couple hours on PS5 base, digital. Ain't much but damn, it's just Bannerlord. Every time I have, it's because of ships. I tend to buy my own clan parties' ships personally, upgrade them, then transfer them to whichever party leader needs them. I've crashed at every stage during this process in the last few hundred hours that I've been doing it while playing. I crashed while opening the fleet menu in town. I crashed while buying ships and confirming. (I've been doing one stage at a time recently, to try and mitigate the amount of things the game has to process, and it seemed to have helped, until today.) I crashed while transferring ships. I crashed while upgrading ships. Recently I had one of my party leaders pick up some free ships from a fight with some pirates and I crashed while trying to transfer those to myself to sell while giv...

Is the Warsails tutorial currently bugged? (Latest Version)

I'm trying to play through the Warsails tutorial, but I seem to be completely stuck. After escaping captivity, the quest tells me to meet Gunnar at the harbor in Ostican , but he's nowhere to be found. Talking to the townspeople doesn't help either they don't have any dialogue option to guide me to him. The only way I was able to speak to Gunnar was by bribing my way into the keep (which cost me almost all of my denars) and talking to him there. Later, I ran into the same issue in Omor . Gunnar is standing at the harbor this time, but every time I talk to him he just repeats: "I'm waiting for more news." There are no other quest NPCs at the harbor Gunnar is literally the only one there. To make things worse, after trying to reload earlier saves, my entire game broke with the error: "File read failed. Please try to verify your installation." Verifying files, along with the other fixes I found online, didn't help. I ultimately had to c...

Bannerlord's greatest features are your imagination and your own fantasy - How to enjoy Bannerlord again

Why I Still Love Bannerlord Despite Its Flaws Hello everyone I've been thinking about this for a while, and I wanted to share it with anyone who enjoys Bannerlord, or wants to enjoy it more. If you're already having fun throughout the entire game, that's great. This post probably isn't aimed at you. But if you've ever felt that Bannerlord has incredible potential yet somehow loses its magic after the early game, maybe this perspective will help. I completely understand the criticism the game receives. Bannerlord could have been so much more. The quests become repetitive, diplomacy lacks depth, and many of its mechanics never evolve as much as they could. The early game is exciting, the mid game starts to slow down and the late game often turns into a grind. I agree with all of that. And yet... I still enjoy every stage of the game. The reason is simple; I don't rely on the game to tell my story. I create one myself. To me, Bannerlord feels less like a tra...

Why is sending troops while in an army so useless?

Seriously. I do it with independent parties all the time, and I win battles no problem. In the field, I consistently win even when outnumbered, no problem. But when im seizing a town or castle, sending troops to auto resolve is like sending them directly into a meat grinder. I have to have 4× troops or MORE in order to win, and even then I always suffer very heavy casualties. Why the fuck is it like this? It makes zero sense. It is genuinely baffling that I have such a big advantage and still lose when sending troops. I even make sure to have high morale and it still doesn't work most of the time. What sucks is that I really don't want to manually be in EVERY single siege, especially if im at war with multiple kingdoms. Its super annoying that if im in an army, auto resolving is useless. Why isnt it realistic? Like the meter says I have a massive advantage, why the hell am I still losing so much then?! submitted by /u/InteractionPresent66 [link] [commen...

How Do I Get Horse Archers to Stop and Shoot?

So, Im playing the Anno Domini mod, larping as Genghis Khan. I noticed that that my HAs tend to begin doing their circling move as soon as the enemy crosses a certain threshold. I give them orders to move to a different position and they dont do that. Delegate command is Off, all troops are in Line formation. Anybody know how i can fix this? submitted by /u/TittyMcSwag619 [link] [comments]

Beat the game with a full map wipe for the first time on realistic

I started off as a pirate joined the Khuzait then defected to form Caliban with Hargard and 3 castles, luckily Sturgia was butchered so I got most of my first lords from them and cannibalized the Nords wile forcing Khuzaits to sue for peace a couple times then rebuilt the northern empire after recruiting most of their lords. Then took over Battania and the Western Empire followed by a blitz on Vlandia's cities after they wasted their initial armies trying to take Dunglanys. Finished off the remaining cities for Khuzaits, then destroyed the Aserai with 35 clans. submitted by /u/Sea-Frame5474 [link] [comments]

That I eventually left sturgia started the emirate state of Revyl. Where I fought battainan Nordic naval landings. And later started a doom campaign with my 4 sons against the Nords. Now I am second generation with my son taking over. No longer small boarder state between kingdoms. The Groznovid sultanate is formed. (My clan name). And now more than 15 clans from Nords, Battanians, Sturgia, Empire, Valandian have flocked to our dynasty’s service. Here I am leading with my second generation sultan of the north. With 10 social 10 intelligence already, (I am still training his leadership, he is 36). With 3 clan armies e...
