"Failed Load Order Operation" Error

Why does items lose value?

So I'm wondering why does the items I get when, e.g after a battle, lose its value when I try and sell them at the marketplace? When I get them they say one price, when I'm about to sell them they're a lot cheaper. Is there a trick who or where I should sell them to get a better price or is it just the way it is?
