I have been testing quite a bit Naute vs Legionaries as I want to make a Infantry playthrough with Empire only units and I noticed Legionaries are just ass now. Naute even with worse armor just outperform and that even in battles where they are outnumbered and/or fight mixed armies against t5/t4 with archers and cav. Quick PSA: If your troops have a weapon that deals both blunt and some other form of damage they will not use that weapon if you order blunt weapons only
I tested this in Floris by equipping my companions with a Goendang, which is basically a stick with a spike on the end. Thrusting damage is pierce, swinging damage is blunt. I told them to use blunt weapons and they all switched to their fists. A few with clubs switched to that.
If anyone would like to test this with other modules/weapons/troops feel free to add your findings.
