Everybody manages to "win" the game

I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. I use Diplomacy, RBM so it is harder, but still... submitted by /u/Top_Leopard_9528 [link] [comments]

Stealthy's guide to conquering the factions of Calradia: The Rhodoks (1)

Hi everyone I'm writing this guide as a quick intro for beginners to the game to give them some advice and perspective in managing army tactics against all types of factions during the heat of battle. Each post will be on a different faction, I hope you find it useful!

So first off;

THE RHODOKS

Background - The Rhodoks are extremely painful to beseige due to their hardhitting and deadly crossbowman paired with heavy infantry that are able to hold your attacking troops in position while the crossbowman pepper your men with holes. On the field their infantry are generally there to hold the enemy in place while relying on their crossbowman to do the real damage. Overall they are a competent faction and I rate them 7/10 in terms of toughness.

  1. When meeting a Rhodok army on the field of battle your first priority is taking out those deadly crossbowman, given time and a nice hill to look down upon Rhodokian Crossbowman rain down death like crazy and your men will drop like flies to the onslaught so always take them out first.

  2. The Rhodokian Infantry have tough armour and are usually equipped with spears or halberds to deal with cavalry so never charge your horsemen head on as they'll be spitted upon those pesky sharp sticks. They almost always carry heavy shields so in general any ranged troops you have are useless fighting rhodoks on fields.

  3. As the enemy approaches have your infantry charge theirs, Rhodok Infantry are more suited for a defensive style so they'll hold your men in place but you wont take significant casualties which is what you want. While their dangerous spearmen are locked in place take manual control of your horseman and have them charge around the swarm of men hacking at each other and ride straight into those pesky crossbowman - you'll catch them by surprise and have a wonderful time slaughtering them (I always do).

  4. Once the crossbowman are dealt with simply have your calvary turn around and stab the Rhodok infantry in the back, caught on both sides the enemy will quickly be killed and victory will be yours.

I hope this guide has helped, comment your strategies to defeat the Rhodoks and let me know which faction you would like me to write about next.

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . For a deep read on the subject see the wiki https://pop3.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Creation Or for a quick "Just...

TaleWorlds Forums

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
