Everybody manages to "win" the game

I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. I use Diplomacy, RBM so it is harder, but still... submitted by /u/Top_Leopard_9528 [link] [comments]

Questions about 1257 AD

So this may be my favorite mod that I have ever played, largely because the setting lends itself better to my imagination than other mods (love medieval history) and I can play as somebody who I am actually invested in. I just have a few questions.

  1. Is it worth it to download the subversion in 2018? I have the 1.13 angry peasants edition, but I have still noticed some minor bugs slip through the cracks, like after defeating an enemy, I am prompted to continue the battle with my retinue versus 0 enemies (easily fixed by entering the battle and leaving). So as I understand it, the subversion allows the mod to update automatically, should I get it or is it obsolete with 1257 being finished?

  2. Is it normal for all of the cities to be impoverished? I understand that many despots simply wouldn't give a fuck about the peasants but cities like Venice should not be described as "unbearable" in the cities screen.

  3. Has anybody tried this submod? What do it do besides change graphics? It requires new game so I'm hesitant to install and restart.

  4. If I install this proper English pack, will it work with 1.13 and will I need to start a new game? On a related noted I assume it was originally written in Latin? Is it possible to switch back and forth between languages without having to start a new game? Also some of the cultures confuse me. There is a Latin and Italian troop type in Italy, yet Latin troops are also found in spain, but no spanish troops. What gives?

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . TaleWorlds Forums

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
