In Warband you would allocate troops to formations on your party screen. You could put individual troops in formation 1,2, 3 etc. In bannerlord it feels cumbersome having to do it in the battle deployment screen using the sliders. Is there a way to change this? submitted by /u/FingersToKeyboard [link] [comments]
Might as well share it where I can get flamed be constructively criticized by crazy people.
Khergit: (the purple guys)
- Infantry: F. Their only guaranteed infantry unit is their base recruit, who is garbage.
- Cavalry: B. The definition of glass cannon, they cannot hold up against Swadian or Sarranid heavy cavalry in general melee but if you can get them to repeatedly charge, their lances do work.
- Archers: C. They have no guaranteed foot archers. That being said...
- SPECIAL: Cavalry Archers: D for AI, S for player who can properly micro them. Cavalry archers are stupidly good if you can use them, as they were in antiquity.
Nords: (the blue guys)
- Infantry: S. Their infantry line is second to none. Get an army of Huscarls and you will win any even numbered fight against AI.
- Cavalry: N/A. The only cavalry you will see in a Nord army is Lords and the occasional mounted mercenary.
- Archers: B. They're decent, but they're basically there to soften up the enemy for your infantry to do their dirty work.
Rhodok: (the green guys)
- Infantry: B. The Sergeant is second only to the Vaegir Guard and Nord Huscarl/Veteran in a 1v1. They do an excellent job of holding a line, however, and given that they all have polearms can stop cavalry stupidly easy.
- Cavalry: N/A. The only cavalry you will see in a Rhodok army is Lords and the occasional mounted mercenary.
- Archers: S. This is the power of the Rhodoks. Attacking a castle or city defended by Rhodok involves massive losses before you reach the walls. The Rhodok Sharpshooter is the best ranged unit against foes with heavy armor or shields in the game if properly protected, and they're no slouch in melee either (although you don't want to put them in melee).
Sarranid: (the yellow guys)
- Infantry: C. Nothing to write home about. They exist. The Guard loses 1v1 to the Rhodok Sergeant.
- Cavalry: A+. There's an argument over whether the Sarranid or the Swadians have the best top promotion cavalry. I tend towards Swadians. That being said, Mamlukes are no slouches.
- Archers: B. They're something to keep in mind when attacking a castle or town, otherwise ignorable because you'll typically win or lose a field battle against Sarranids before their archers start coming into play.
Swadia: (the orange ones)
- Infantry: B-. It exists. Their infantry line is slightly worse than the Rhodoks.
- Cavalry: S. Swadia has arguably the best heavy cavalry unit in the game in the Swadian Knight, but the Swadian Man at Arms is no slouch as a heavy cavalry unit either - and the fact that they have a heavy cavalry unit one tier earlier than the Sarranids is why I argue that Swadia is a better cavalry civ.
- Archers: C. Their archer line exists. It is bad. Only garrison castles and towns with it.
Vaegirs: (the white guys) that's racist!
- Infantry: B. This one's gonna rustle some feathers. Depending on how much you value shields, they could be argued as an A, since their infantry is very good. However, lack of shields means that they get absolutely destroyed by Rhodok and even Nords, and attacking on sieges is a fucking nightmare. Of note: the Vaegir Guard beats the Nord Huscarl in 1v1 probably due to longer reach on their weapon.
- Cavalry: A. It's the worst top tier heavy cavalry. But it's still heavy cavalry, and if fighting them you should have a plan to deal with it.
- Archers: A. They have the best bow unit in the game - bows are excellent for mowing down lightly armored units. This makes them excellent for hunting bandits and against Khergit if you can keep the cavalry off of your archers.
