How do I start my own kingdom without being immediately crushed by other factions?

First time playing bannerlord or anything mount & blade related, and I've been following the main quest and having a great time fighting my way up in the world. I opted to make my own non-imperial kingdom rather than join one, and my first fief was Balagrad (which I took from rebels). From Balagrad, I then moved to conquer lands of the northern empire, which is what the main quest pushes for. I took Epicrotea and fought off Lucon's army at the gates, where I gained my second (much more prosperous) fief. The problem now is that the Vlandians have shown hyper-aggression towards me, and it is impossible for me to do anything about them. They've taken over the majority of the western half of the map through endless warfare, are the superpower of the game, and for every man I have, they have 12 more. I have 50 relation with Derthert, my family is married into a powerful Vlandian clan, my character is of Vlandian origin, and the game difficulty is set on normal, but they ins...

Troop Deployment System on Crack?

Okay, so I don't know if this is a big or if I'm just missing something but can someone please explain why, in the pre-battle deployment screen, does the number of troops I have in a group change, even if it is 'locked,' whenever I change a different groups number.

For example: I have 6 groups. 1 is infantry with a shield preference,2 is cavalry/mounted archer with no preference, 3 is just cavalry - no preference, 4 is archers with no preference, 5 and 6 are both infantry/archers. Group 5 has a polearm and javelin preference and 6 is a heavy armor preference.

I have locked the number of archers in group 4 at 16/32 (41%) Group 1 infantry is locked at 22/64 (32%) Group 5 archers are locked at 9/32 (57% is what it says, though clearly that is not accurate) the infantry are not locked in at 39/64 (32% is what it says - also inaccurate) Group 6 has 3/64 (35% - clearly inaccurate) infantry - unlocked and 7/32 (2% - also clearly inaccurate) archers - unlocked.

Now, let's say I try to increase the number of infantry I have in group 6 by taking some from group 5. The second I move that slider even a little bit, the numbers of all infantry and archers in groups 5 and 6 changes dramatically. Whether they are locked or not. Sometimes it will change the amount of troops in groups 1 and 4 as well - locked or not.

Again, this is just an example as this type of situation happens constantly. Can someone explain this? I've wasted so many hours trying to get my deployment numbers where I want them...

Dickplomacy Reloaded!

Hello everyone! :D I just made a mod, it's called Dickplomacy Reloaded. Basically it adds the functionality that you would find in normal mods, such as Dynamic Troop Trees, Custom Troop Trees, Freelancer, Tournament Play Enhancements, Single Screen Character Creation, and Rubiks World Map into Dickplomacy. ^-^ It also doesn't require WSE, but you still need the older (exe) version of Warband that comes with Dickplomacy. (Though I haven't tested it with the newest version of Warband so it might work.) Also, if you do decide to download it, please ignore (DO NOT USE) the "content options" folder, it is legacy, and the mod is compiled from source with all features.
