Is there a mod that changes the formation system to the one from Warband?

In Warband you would allocate troops to formations on your party screen. You could put individual troops in formation 1,2, 3 etc. In bannerlord it feels cumbersome having to do it in the battle deployment screen using the sliders. Is there a way to change this? submitted by /u/FingersToKeyboard [link] [comments]

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Polish review/interview (Translated)

Here is the Original link: http://ift.tt/2s29MbY

I'd also like to point out that the date on their website is set as 2017.

Translation:

Talking with the boss of the TaleWords company which is well known from their Mount and Blade series. He mentioned a story which repeats itself which is that many fans approach him and say "Look listen when is this game coming out because you know i started playing this game (Warband) when i began Studying, now i work and have a wife and two kids and I'm stilling waiting for Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord" - We are waiting too, right? *HORSE NOISE"

On the E3, TaleWorlds was still not ready to show the full experience of the Mount and Blade 2, the sandbox campaign with the dynamic system where units move on the map and complete their own set of goals and quests. They focused on the combat part of the game, but i think it was a good decision because we were now able to actually play the game, it wasn't only a presentation, we could actually mount a horse, arm ourselves with a lance and murder a few opponents. Mount and Blade on the screenshots may look similar to its previous titles or the whole previous generation, on the first glance it does look like not much has changed and that its just mount and blade and if someone takes a look at the screenshots he will say "Meh a bit better graphics but its still the same, there isn't a jump in the quality". There has been a lot of work put into (Bannerlord) so that it does not seem like a next part of Mount and Blade 1, but rather that it is actually 2nd generation of Mount and Blade. I had the chance to fight on the arena where you could remind yourself and get to know the new systems of combat, in short it looks like the combat system is much more smooth and it is much more satisfying, obviously the game is still very demanding if you want to play without any simplifications. The smoothness of combat now allows a sequence of combat, they try to be realistic but they aren't some combos like in (reference to a game I don't know), they are just swings of sword where the character uses the strength of the first blow to attack a second time, those sequences are available to a variety of weapons you just have to get to know them. For example the shield works differently you can now defend yourself much more accurately which will allow you to survive longer on the battlefield. The creators have fixed most of the animations, which means it looks better and its played better, it feels more satisfying just moving on the field. The well known feeling from 1st Mount and Blade that we are fighting some robots or bots who just rush at us without any strategy, i am talking specifically about single-player obviously, the animations were very simple and it didn't look very realistic and wasn't very nice, in Mount and Blade: Bannerlord the characters move much more realistically, so in one on one combat we really get much more fun out of it. The game is still very demanding on the presentation i definitely had some sort of health cheats than in the normal mount and blade where you can die from one blow, but still I nearly managed to complete the arena on very low health trying to block the last blows and then fall when i couldn't get the feeling of which side to block from.

The feature that causes the biggest impact is the the large scale battles, as the arena is obviously an addition to test your combat skills. The biggest attractions are the large scale battles and we have to admit that they look very, very nice. But Mount and Blade was never a game where the graphics where the point, it was the representation of the game (A.k.a the gameplay), being a lord or a soldier/knight. I had the opportunity to fight on the desert as a bowman, I also had the opportunity to fight in savannah like location, and in both cases it was very fun. The thing which is very characteristic and which is a very good idea which enriches the world of medieval lord is when we fight in a large battle along a side of higher ranked lord, we won't always be controlling the whole army but an assigned group, cavalry or infantry it will probably be dependent on many factors. In that battle we will be receiving orders from a our king or the leader who will also be in disposal of his own units and you will have to work together in order to win. It's hard to tell how this will work, as you all know as fans of mount and blade, that you could kind of troll the battles, that not everything would go as realistically as you would think it should. But what i saw (In bannerlord) was much more realistic. As a leader you now have more options, the interface has been redesigned, you can tell your troops where to go, they can now form better formations, no more of the idiotic formations where everyone forms a line, so this is now more realistic. Charging the enemies with lances is done very well, there is a new move with the lance where you can lower it and just charge your enemy and do massive damage it is a massive improvement. The enjoyment is huge, especially that the battle scale is much larger, visually it is much more impressive, the dust particles when fighting and all the troops collide and also because of the improved animations it looks much more logical. There is a ton of details such as when our character pulls the bow, after a second or two he gets tired and loses accuracy, we practically shot blind. So you have to remember about those things in Mount and Blade.

I am personally waiting for Mount and Blade:2 and I am curious chuckles when TaleWorlds will manage to release the game. They still don't answer those questions in direct fashion and they still say that there is a lot of work and a lot can still change, that they are still designing the game and figuring out stuff. I just hope that they won't run out of money and that they will manage to finish it, because what I saw at E3 was once again very pleasing. I was quite unsure if the combat was that improved that it deserved a second title that it wont be similar. But i have to admit that the new combat system is much better and much more satisfying and its not something you could do with a mod. This is a new engine, new animations and new rules with in-depth combat and its appreciated.

We are waiting when Mount and Blade will release. You guys know I started playing it while doing my studies and now I have a wife, this is the 7th E3 and It's still not here. Horse Noise

END

This took a while.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it. Dickplomacy Reloaded!

Hello everyone! :D I just made a mod, it's called Dickplomacy Reloaded. Basically it adds the functionality that you would find in normal mods, such as Dynamic Troop Trees, Custom Troop Trees, Freelancer, Tournament Play Enhancements, Single Screen Character Creation, and Rubiks World Map into Dickplomacy. ^-^ It also doesn't require WSE, but you still need the older (exe) version of Warband that comes with Dickplomacy. (Though I haven't tested it with the newest version of Warband so it might work.) Also, if you do decide to download it, please ignore (DO NOT USE) the "content options" folder, it is legacy, and the mod is compiled from source with all features. (This mod includes source btw) https://www.nexusmods.com/mbwarband/mods/6243/?tab=description Also, I am hoping to support it in the future, i.e through content updates and bug fixes. I hope everyone likes it!! :D Submitted August 11, 2018 at 09:48PM by amazing_lily https://ift.tt/2KMd9rK
