POP glitch

i won a siege defense against 2100 soldiers and was chasing the enemy when the game froze and ctrl+alt+delete didn't work. so i restarted my PC. when i booted up the game, my character was bald and weird looking, the stewards gave me the dialogue you get when you first conquer the town and were naked (i fear for my wife). my CKO was "reset" (their stats were 0, they had no equipment and the name was the default one). i can't even reequip them, the "store" side of the screen is empty.

anyone had this issue? any fix? i have over 9000 renown (for real) and close to 400 honour. so starting a new game isn't my first choice. thanks!

edit: stores in the towns i visited, only have the basic clothing of the knighthood orders and nothing else. not even food.
