Is now a good time to try Bannerlord again to play with some mods?

i wanna try The Old Realms for Bannerlord or SHOKUHO out but idk if the game is stable for mods yet after a DLC came out. I mainly played the game near launch, also does the game have content now? submitted by /u/Zelcki [link] [comments]

My thoughts on the "In The Name Of Jerusalem." Crusader mod

So, I recently downloaded ITNOJ and by god, one of my favourite mods by FAR. It's better than even SOF. In my opinion, here's why.

It's made by a Chinese mod team, so English translation is a little rough around the edges, and the mod itself is still in development. You can play as either a crusader or muslim and choose from a variety of starts, as a peasant, squire, knight or lord, each having different starting stats and equipment. There's some really impressive scenes at work. It starts with you arriving at a port in Jerusalem, and straight away there's a group of armed Templars that walk off escorting some pilgrims, it was really cool when I saw it. You can't recruit from villages, and have to recruit from taverns, but it's not too hard to manage monetarily if you know what you're doing, going after bandits and stuff. It's set in 1187, so expect a lot of mail and mid period medieval weapons, there's a lot of Italian, and French mercenaries for hire and stuff. The armour is also rather unique and cool for all of the factions. The combat is cool because there's new combat and running, walking, attacking animations, as well as new blood fx and death animations, a really cool game so far. Some, of the commands are voiced, not all. There's a lot of factions here, including the: Kingdom of Jerusalem Principality of Antioch Abbasid sultanate Sultanate of Rum The Byzantines and I think one or two other factions if I remember correctly.

The map is rather spacious with many settlements, so by no means is a small map to work with, I'd say my favourite feature by far is that you have to actually join the Templar/Hospitaller order by doing quests for their leaders until they respect you enough. Then you can get custom armour/weapons and troops from them, the armour and gear is free too, so that's nice. The sieges, fuck me, closest thing we have to Bannerlord. The attackers have a battering ram they walk towards the gate and start smashing it, there's wooden palisades hiding your men which they fire their bows/crossbows behind and wait for the attack to start, it's literally the best siege mechanics in any mod I've ever played.

Oh and also, a lot of custom music

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
