Everybody manages to "win" the game

I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. I use Diplomacy, RBM so it is harder, but still... submitted by /u/Top_Leopard_9528 [link] [comments]

Combat AI in Bannerlord.

Is there anything concrete on this? Probably not.

However, I have a few hopes/needs/wants for BL AI and I'm curious what y'all think/feel.

1) Formations AI needs to be part of the base game. No more messy charges for fucks sake.

2) Different types of enemies should have different battle strategies, straight up. First in the sense that its okay to have a band of 8 looters charge recklessly, but actual armies lead by lords should behave like armies.

Further more there should, imho, be some cultural variations between strategies that reflect their different strengths. 1257ad, the mod, did Horse Archer AI well and horse-archer factions should have something similar.

Maybe the empire forms 3 battle lines versus a single mass-line/shield wall that northern cultures might favor? Its not like EVERYTHING needs to be distinct but I strongly feel there needs to be a behavioral distinction between foes. Fighting Aersai and Vlandians should FEEL different.

3) More individuality. I get this is probably a technical challenge & needs to be balanced by the amount of units on the field and reasonable processor expectations.

That said: I'm sure many of you notice that if you flank a mob in Warband the rear of the mob barely turns to face you as you cut down men with their backs to you. Having the rear-AI be capable of recognizing that and basically just turning to face you would be really nice.

4) Please please let the AI use archers/ranged in volleys. If you could get the AI to hold fire until certain ranges and things like that not only would they be more challenging with the same set of resources but it'd add a lot of cool, intense, moments to battles.

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . For a deep read on the subject see the wiki https://pop3.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Creation Or for a quick "Just...

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
