[Pendor 3.9.2]Any game-y tips and short cuts to make early game and money making as smooth as possible?

I know nothing about this game and from what I've read, I feel very intimidated especially since I usually play with normal damage to self and allies, good combat AI etc.

Any pro tips and tricks to make the game less frustrating and tedious in the early stages?

I don't want to abuse tournaments (restricted early game in PoP anyway) and I usually build high int, high charisma character over combat oriented one.
