What the hell did they do to Fennagan?

Bro used to have 275 in every combat stat and now he has… 50 two handed? 120 athletics? He and Caladog were the gatekeepers of Battanian tournaments, now they’re just battanian recruits with fancy armor. Arwa gutted, Corein gutted, every tournament is weenie hut junior? The map in AD1257

Is there a patch or something to liven up the map? It's so plain and boring, and some of the settlements are really tiny (just appearance wise on the map) for some reason. I honestly can't get into it because of that. I've heard such good things about it but the map is depressing.
