Everybody manages to "win" the game

I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. I use Diplomacy, RBM so it is harder, but still... submitted by /u/Top_Leopard_9528 [link] [comments]

Bannerlord Tactics & Renown

I was chilling in Pendor late-game, awaiting my CKHO to reach godhood, and I was thinking about how tactics and renown can be expanded upon.

Generally, the player character can be a huge deciding factor in battles/sieges. Especially so in mods like Pendor where you can be a demi-god with amazing stats and items you grind for. However, this is not accounted for. Renown and Tactics could play a part in this for Bannerlord.

If you're an individual lord known for felling many in battles, winning against impossible odds, and just doing things of note; it would be nice if the world could acknowledge it and respond appropriately. Other Lords may think twice of challenging you, or the prideful ones will challenge you to a duel with high stakes for the glory of defeating you. Brigands, even in greater numbers than your own party, will never dare to fight you once they know who you are.

As far as Tactics go, it's a very broad term that can manifest in a variety of ways. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Warband it simply allows you to start with an advantage in numbers during a battle. This reflects a smaller force being able to minimize the number advantages of the enemy vaguely.

However, what about adding some chances to ambush the enemy commander in their tent/camp type of scenario? A small handful of soldiers sneak into the commanders camp and you can win a battle that way. Maybe you start the battle with a series of pre-made traps giving you a gerry-rigged fortification to fight from. Give more tangible rewards for being a tactical genius on the battlefield. It will make builds more unique when you consider, including other lords, the differences between warrior-kings and merchant kings, and military geniuses.

This is getting long, but basically what are peoples thoughts on expanding the impact of things like renown and skills that aren't directly related to combat?

Prophecy of Pendor - Early Game Guide

I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . TaleWorlds Forums

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
