Inquiring about a mercenary mod

I was wondering if anyone knew about a mod based around mercenaries being made. Its something I've always felt would be cool, if mount and blade had a faction based around mercenaries but the units in the base game are pretty lame. If there isn't one and a modder thought they could make one thatd be dum litty
