New PC owner should I play this game vanilla the first playthrough?

(PoP) Holding locations in your backfield when attacking different factions

So I'm current;y marshal for Sarleon, at war with Ravenstern, Fierdsvain, and Dshar Principalities. I can't beat any of them in open field conflict but when I start taking castles and towns the enemy is recapturing them when I inevitably have to react to an enemy offensive in a different region. Does anyone have a simple solution for holding those areas until they get given to a lord and reinforced that doesn't include leaving a large amount of my own troops in them?

Dickplomacy Reloaded!

Hello everyone! :D I just made a mod, it's called Dickplomacy Reloaded. Basically it adds the functionality that you would find in normal mods, such as Dynamic Troop Trees, Custom Troop Trees, Freelancer, Tournament Play Enhancements, Single Screen Character Creation, and Rubiks World Map into Dickplomacy. ^-^ It also doesn't require WSE, but you still need the older (exe) version of Warband that comes with Dickplomacy. (Though I haven't tested it with the newest version of Warband so it might work.) Also, if you do decide to download it, please ignore (DO NOT USE) the "content options" folder, it is legacy, and the mod is compiled from source with all features.
