And I love every improvement or changement so far. Well I am 1 hour into a new campaign but I liked th new stealth system and just looking at the encyclopedia relations seems a bit more complex. Loved also the new small things such as troops shouting down your orders. So far soon cool BUT There is one thing which really suck for me and that is the new light system. I really can't see shit in battles, unless with a sun shining at midday. Other than that impossible to fight in the shadows at dawn or even afternoon. And I can't tell if the ai is better or I simply suck. Please tell me there is a fix to this because battles are just becoming a frustrating nightmare... submitted by /u/Plopita [link] [comments]
I'm not talking about singular throwing spears (even if I do really like the Pilum) or throwing knives. I'm talking about cheap javelins that come in stacks.
I spawned with a pair of eastern jagged javelins that would each cost the price of two caravans to replace (and could probably be sold for a caravan the moment you start lol, but they're not for sale since I want to use them), and I was wanting to outfit clan members with javelins as well.
The issue is, the cheapest javelins cost 2k a piece and unlike most weapons, it's best to carry 2-4 stacks of javelins depending on whether you want a shield and a melee weapon or just all-in skirmisher (I recommend having at least a shield so you can deal with archers) That means the lightest reasonable skirmisher build probably costs 7k to equip. vs potentially half that for an archer. Give that a horse and full light armor and the situation gets even more expensive, whereas it arguably gets cheaper for the archer as having a melee backup is much less important when your ammo count is 20-105 than when it's 6.
