I'm lazy and sometimes like to play Bannerlord as if its an idle game, and from experience it seems the only viable army to F1+F3 or F6 every single battle with is horse archers. They're reliably good but what else is good for simply charging or allowing AI control? I feel like sometimes in 1.8.0, the pathing is bad for many units as they walk backwards or spread out too much, causing battles to also spread out enormously (benefiting horse archer strats, again). F1+F3 with melee cavalry also seems bad cause they always arrive first and die en masse by themselves (like the Dothraki RIP GoT S8). Thoughts? I'm day 167 into a new campaign on 1.8.0 and no one is going to war with each other. All support for war is at 0%. I've assembled the banner in the story and nothing has happened. Tried raiding a village but before I could even complete the raid, the kingdom had already made peace. mods are all 1.8 compatible. 1.8 is still currently beta, i've recently started a new campaign but then i heard in 1.8 it's advised to start fresh so i'm wondering if i should just stop and wait for 1.8 to hit live. But i've no idea how long that'll be. IIRC, Vlandian Banner Knights wore Brigandine Over Mail instead of Hauberk Over Mail. Not sure if it’s because I disabled the RBM combat module due to issues with sword piece hilts and names and whatnot, but now the Vlandian Banner Knights just have weaker armor with a cool cape now I guess. I’m currently playing a female as queen of my own kingdom after spending a lot of time early game building relationships. When I give other vassals land my husband doesn’t like it, and he is currently “suspicious” of me. Is there a point in which he actually will leave and turn traitor? First time posting here but figured I’d share something I found. Unsure if this is older than 1.8*, I only just found it. If you are in the smithing menu, you can press enter to craft or refine instead of clicking the button with your mouse. Doing this will allow you to perform those actions even when out of stamina (normally the button is greyed out and cannot be pressed) Smelting weapons with enter will cause a crash, but crafting and refining works fine. I haven't played in awhile. I used to run a mod that allowed you to cleave multiple enemies with most 2H weapons, which was great fun. However, they seem to be outdated now. So my question is, is it still only 2H axes that can cleave? I can't find any new information on that online. Also, any suggestions for weapon types if I want to just be a barbaric machine of death? Besides just learning some mechanics and basics (I'm still lost), this is my first playthrough. I started as age 20 and I'm 160 days in. I'm lvl 11, have 2 workshops and 40k and pretty good weapons and armor. I've mostly been trading, doing tournaments and quests for town and village people. I have about 30 Fians/sharpshooters. Between my perks and reputation with some villages I can recruit many more Fians if I wanted but haven't had the need. I seemingly can't build any more workshops, so do I dabble in the factions? I'm Battanian, and like the units but I don't really know what's going on with wars and shit. I can't seem to get past the lore choices of character creation after the first two. While it is a bit of a pain in the ass to complete, and the first time I played through it annoyed me to no end, on my next couple of playthroughs I found myself really appreciating the way it tells the story this very important battle. The fact that you have to find 10 people to talk to means that you end up getting a pretty wide range of viewpoints, and seeing the different character's opinions and biases regarding the fight was just really fun to me. I also enjoyed the fact that you really dont know the specifics of the conflict, other than empire losses and the emperor dies, until youve gone through a few of the interactions. Learning how each faction fucked things up in the lead up, during, and in the aftermath of the battle was also quite interesting. Do other people agree? IDK, maybe its just the fact that i didnt really purposefully seek characters out to talk to, just talked to them as i found them while doing other stuff, that made the whole ordeal less frustrating tha...

(ironman, honorable/morally good playthrough, sandbox, realistic,1.8) Tldr; had a companion with high relation and a fief that rebelled against me in the middle of a war and joined the other side. Is this a bug or a new feature? So I have lead a great war campaign hoping to get a little bit of land. I took a city and two castles. On the city I had 35 kills but was knocked out by an arrow on climbing a siege latter. After the battle my name was not even on the vote. I then take my army and siege down a castle. On this siege I got 42 kills and survived for the entire battle. My name was this time on the vote. But I was the least voted and once more did not gain any land for my efforts. I then siege down another castle. I survived for the entire time and got 64 kills. As the title states, what are the upgrade paths you guys go down as Aserai or just recommend in general? So I was trying to defend one of my towns and it has a solid defense against this army. (800vs500) in their favor for numbers. I decide to wait next so that when they attack, the city weakens their numbers so I can have a more even fight of about 500 vs 500 where I can win. I want to assign feifs I capture to specific clans mainly the ones that are lowest level and only have one castle each but the issue I'm having is everytime the assign feif option comes up it only ever shows my highest level clans that already have 3 castles/towns each and it's getting ridiculous I even tried capturing castles with just those specific low level clan vassals hoping they would get some sort of extra credit/claim to it but it totally failed not a single low level clan was eligible so does anyone know of a way I can make my low level clans eligiblity increase for feifs I capture in the future? submitted by /u/Nomoremrnicejew [link] [comments]

A lot of people were complaining about constant wars in previous versions and asking for breathing room for kingdom management, but having played a fair amount of the new beta, I wonder if they overbalanced on the AI logic. I've seen several instances of my faction going to war only for it to end the next day without any confict, sometimes to seemingly to reduce tributes other times for nothing. Most of the time, the wars end after one or two sieges or major battles. In some instances, I get it because of captures or multiple fronts, but sometimes I just find the kingdom at peace for a long time with nothing to do and no interest in declaring war by vote. After all the hand wringing about smithing, the devs finally dropped the hammer. For better or worse though, smithing is still by far the easiest way to make money. They did away with random part unlocking, but it's still very easy to build up a character that can craft 15k denarii weapons pretty quickly. Conceptually, to get a smithing character rolling, the key is to unlock a part that allows you to make valuable weapons as quickly as possible. Because you start with really shitty parts, it would take forever to level up by crafting. The solution is smelting. Because pole arms with swing damage sell for very high prices and stabbing only pole arms are cheap to buy, this is going to be the ideal category to focus on. When you first start, you will have to hunt down looters and smelt the loot. You'll have to deal in trade goods too for extra income, and you also should be winning tournaments and smelting any weapons you win for the smithing EXP. I recommend 2h swords to star...

Hi. Since last tiem I've posted here I've won roughly 30 tournaments, got my first 2 workshops, and have 25 troops whilst gaining roughly 300 denars each day. I think with the 1.8.0 patch enemy AI improved as well. In my last Vlandia vs Sturgia battle, Sturgian army, which mainly consists of foot soldiers, after the first skirmish retreated nearby hill, which broke the efficiency of Vlandian knights and cavalry. Before 1.8.0 I didn't see AI in similar behaviour, so I believe this is one of the good effects of the latest patch. Are there any other differences between heavy and light shields than hit points, resistance and speed? If I have 13+ shield skill, which means shields don't take damage anymore (104% damage reduction), is it always preferable to use a light shield of the same size? Are there maybe other advantages to heavy shields than just hp and res? E.g. less likely to stagger when blocking or less likely to break through with a heavy weapon or a crossbow etc.? I would have assumed not, but in my current playthrough (1.7.2) I've noticed my companions are generally getting way more kills than the average soldier. For example, my 10 companions often get the same amount of total kills as 30-40 of my T6 Cav. Usually I'd chalk this up to them having better weapons, or armour, or skills, but this go around I've been doing a gimmick where all my companions have the exact same equipment as my T6 cavalry troops, so that's not the issue, and they're even in the same formation so they're not getting different orders. In most cases the companion's relevant skills are also not as high. No clue what could be causing this discrepancy besides better AI. submitted by /u/Senatius [link] [comments]

As I said in the title- made a brake on Bannerlord for about a year and thinking to pick it up again for a while as I enjoyed it a lot. I played when battanian fian champions, khuzait khan guards and imperial legioneers were the meta, blacksmithing was the money maker, caravans and workshops sucked for profits etc. Did other troops got improvement since? Hello guys, I wasnt playing the game for a long time and I recently downloaded again after 1.7.2 uptade. I enjoyed the this newest versions of the game but the story and almost everything seems very similar to early versions and I kinda get bored and started to looking for some big mods. I saw some GoT mods like the Realm of Thrones, the Long Night and Trial of the Seven Kingdom. I am genuinely impressed by how lazy TW is, after two years of "active" development, there is barely anything to do at every game stage. At the start, you either farm looters with your bow on a horse or spend the next 60 mins making mad bank with smithing. There is no strategy in battles, you got more units you win unless you got a team full of archers or horse archers. The Mid and end game is just an endless barrage of mediocre battles. Why are looters so strong, why do their rocks stagger me in 100k worth of armor, why isn't there anything else to fight besides looters. So I'm not having trouble attacking people in bannerlord, I'm just curious if I'm missing something. ​ More often than not I'm stronger than the people I'm attacking, so they go up onto a hill or whatever and wait for me, that's fine and what not but I feel like how troop ordering is set up this makes the fight very unimmersive, maybe I'm missing something though. ​ I would like to participate in the fight but I'm stuck moving my troops into position, charging with cav, pulling back cav, charging with infantry, charging with cav, pulling back archers. ​ I don't even get to enjoy the fight because I'm sitting their clicking hotkeys, and I gotta sit back or else I wont be able to see the ground I need to move my troops onto. ​ The auto command doesn't seem great atm either, normally it puts my guys into defensive mode so were just sitting on either side of the map looking at each other. ​ Please understand I'm not trying to whine...

For the last 2 days I have been trying to get a nice mod list for 1.72 with CEK. I just cannot get it to work. Hence I thought it would be better asking for a working one and then adding some own mods to it. Appreciate any input, replies. submitted by /u/kryptos3301 [link] [comments]

I swear I had more than the first 3 two handed blade pieces unlocked, and was making 2.5k swords yesterday. The damage numbers for two handed maces compared to other two-handed weapons don't even seem comparable and they just seem to do less damage and slow swing speed no matter what you throw on it is this supposed to be this way or is there a balancing reason for it other than prisoners. Title. I've spent the last hour wandering around this dumb empty af castle trying to turn in the 4 infantry for silver scraps. The only person I can talk to or meet with is the lord and he doesn't let me finish the quest. There is no other npcs in the whole castle that doesnt give me a 1 line response. Every time I ask a lord to join my kingdom even the ones I have 70+ relation with they say something like “I am happy with my current ruler neither you or your purse can convince me” and no dialogue check will come up. can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Please please help! Game consistently crashes to desktop a few minutes into castle sieges. Did some googling for suggestions, but nothing thus far has worked or suggestions I keep finding are solution related to Bannerlord or specific mods. Note: I am using "Diplomacy" mod but this problem happens to me on vanilla as well. I have turned all Video to bare minimum, no rag dolls, texture to minimum, etc. My computer can handle Halo Infinite, modded Fallout 4, and Overwatch! Yet crashes with MB: Warband during sieges. First day of paying 1.8 on an existing save and I did an assault on Marunath. Everything went fine until I saw that the battle wasn't ending with 70 troops remaining, with all my guys piled up against a tower in the center. Reinforcements had spawned inside the base level of the tower but there was no door or exit. What looked like a staircase from the floor above was boarded over. I assumed this is a 1.8 bug because I recall hearing that there are changes to the town maps.
