Coming back after a year- what should I know about changes in game?

As I said in the title- made a brake on Bannerlord for about a year and thinking to pick it up again for a while as I enjoyed it a lot.

I played when battanian fian champions, khuzait khan guards and imperial legioneers were the meta, blacksmithing was the money maker, caravans and workshops sucked for profits etc.

Did other troops got improvement since? Are the leveling up skill trees sorted and working?
