I have been testing quite a bit Naute vs Legionaries as I want to make a Infantry playthrough with Empire only units and I noticed Legionaries are just ass now. Naute even with worse armor just outperform and that even in battles where they are outnumbered and/or fight mixed armies against t5/t4 with archers and cav. So i want to start a new run where i can mercenary but never become a vassal or a king. Im doing that this run with world conquest on ce mod and its brutally long. I am debating on running the new high ages mod, but taking other suggestions as well.
Are there any mods worth using that enhance non vassal, fief ownership? I already use map packs for arenas (2 of those), and tournaments xpanded and arena overhaul.
Im also going to figure out which mod that makes it minumum 1x experience gain no matter what as bumping to 1 trait point and 2 skill points made this game leveling ramp too fast.
Other notes im going to ban smithing unless its a replacement for a same tier to same tier weapon. Going to unlock all recipes but that way i can modify length/speed preferences. Crafting rabbit hole sucks me in for too many of my runs.
