Should I break down and buy or stick with warband?

Ok so I’ve had Warband for a while but only recently actually learned the mechanics other than get peasants, become vassal, die. I’ve gotten my army of knights and carved out my own kingdom. No one can stop me.

So now that I’ve gotten the hang of warband I got curious about Bannerlord. The game looks freakin fantastic and a big upgrade on a lot of things from Warband. But my concern is that A) it’s $50 and ahh money. B) the newer era game means more advanced and intricate mechanics, if I just figured out warband can I even fathom bannerlord?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
