VC Balance Mod Question

I started a game a while ago in vanilla VC. Could I continue said game if I installed and opened the VC Balance mod or would I have to start a new game to use the VC balance Mod?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
