Why did they get rid of helmets for the empire?

Lower tier empire troops used to have Byzantine style helmets that looked great. Now they all just get padded coifs? Why? It looks awful. Their troops used to look cool, now they look like peasants roleplaying as assassins creed. Is it because the Nords don’t have much head protection so for “balance” instead of giving all low tier troops helmets they just got rid of them? Historically the FIRST piece of armor someone would get is a helmet… since the Bronze Age, even if all you have is a shirt, shield, and spear, the first piece of armor you’d get is a helmet. Should I become a vassal yet?

I have around 130 troops and 190k denars, wondering if I should take the next step and become a vassal or not? I heard somewhere that you should have at least 1mil to be safe and to make peace with anyone wanting to attack you, but I'm not sure if that was only if you want to make your own kingdom or not.

Also, I kinda like being a merc and just making money off of caravans, it was fun. I don't know if that goes away or not.

I don't really know what to expect, I've never became a vassal before.

Dickplomacy Reloaded!

Hello everyone! :D I just made a mod, it's called Dickplomacy Reloaded. Basically it adds the functionality that you would find in normal mods, such as Dynamic Troop Trees, Custom Troop Trees, Freelancer, Tournament Play Enhancements, Single Screen Character Creation, and Rubiks World Map into Dickplomacy. ^-^ It also doesn't require WSE, but you still need the older (exe) version of Warband that comes with Dickplomacy. (Though I haven't tested it with the newest version of Warband so it might work.) Also, if you do decide to download it, please ignore (DO NOT USE) the "content options" folder, it is legacy, and the mod is compiled from source with all features.
