Everybody manages to "win" the game

I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. Oh God I dont know where to start

The latest update fucked everything up. My save files got corrupted, hundreds to 1000s of hours of gameplay ruined with the update. No problem ill start again from the beggining, no "biggie". So start over, then I attacked a group of looters but guess what? Lots of lords now belong to the same faction, which the bandits belong to. Now im at war with almost all lords. The tribe of osraige or whatever that shit is called. Now I cant proceed with the story at all. Its broken, the mod is broken because of the frickin update. Sorry to vent all this here, thanks for reading. I hope they fix it soon.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
