I like to manually set up 2-3 infantry Ps and 2 ranged Ps. From time to time I get an issue where one of the infantry party have mixed troops, even though I picked melee only. The number slider would have 100 available but the top right corner shows 150 (extra 50 range troops in which I can’t move them for some reason) also it would take away the captain. I mean I play it mainly as Role play, so winning it is not my goal, but I definitely want to be successful. Usually, getting first city is pretty hard, because having less than 200 troops, building siege camp, fending off enemy lords roaming around my siege camp requires big heap of luck. Then expanding the kingdom without clans is hard, even with two or three it gets hard against fully established kingdoms. However, weekly I see many posts about finished game, great strategic win, destroying whole kingdoms singlehandedly.... I am by no means beginner, having 2K+ hours in Warband (partially napoleonic wars as regiment member, but still many hours in Floris, Pendor and so on), 700+ hours in Bannerlord. It's borderline impossible to take castles and compete with larger armies before having a kingdom because you can't ask your clan members to group up which is absurd in my opinion. If I can talk to them and they have a party of their own, we should be able to coordinate ffs. I'm hoping to run this with Shokuho so I need something that runs on 1.2.12 and everything I've found is from ~2020. Now to give them credit, in defensive sieges their archers usually put in work with 25-100 kills before you can get to the ramparts, but i mean wholeheartedly otherwise they're complete garbo, a pole arm or decent 2h sword /axe and you can beat an army of 1500 with 400 dudes just by chopping the hats off of their ridiculous horse archers, even khans guards in my experience are getting decimated on the battlefield submitted by /u/Possible_Back3780 [link] [comments]

After near 1,000 hours in bannerlord, I have found returning from this last hiatus to be as difficult as when I first started the game. I go on these few month hiatus's but return, settle in, and return to my experienced self. But for some reason this last one has been difficult to settle back in for some reason. I just exited this last hiatus a few weeks ago and have found the game is absurdly difficult now! The Ai just feels like it evolved. Looters are somehow pulling off tech that I used for ages now, like sniping me off my horse with an axe, or just dominating me when I used to slaughter them with a fresh sandbox character before the last hiatus. Not to mention that the Ai in battle is somehow smart/op now? Like why are my legionnaries going up against lesser units in shieldwall being decimated, or my archers for some reason being useless, or my elite cataphracts being decimated by shitty t2 archers after said t6 units were charged in their backs, perfect downhill charge and e...

Having finally experienced sea raids, the elephant in The room to me now is how much more thematic and lethal they are than standard raids. I love doing BanditLord / Iron-price (buy nothing) campaign runs. And while taking things by force is certainly possible, sometimes it can be more fun to trick poor saps into parting with their valuables without violence. And even better if they actually leave the exchange not being angry with you! There are a number of quests that offer such an opportunity. The general rule is this: if you take a quest from a notable, but then later your faction declares war against that faction (or vice versa) the quest is voided without a reputation impact, and you get to keep whatever was given to you. Well as a mercenary clan, you are free to join and exit factions at will, meaning you can accept a quest, then contract with whatever faction they are at war with, thereby voiding the quest. Certain quests provide a benefit to doing so: The Art of the Trade. Just like simply not returning to give the notable their cut of the proceeds, you get to keep the consignment items. I last played before the dlc was even announced, started a new campaign today and was shocked by how accurate even the lowest tier ranged units are. I banish that clan declare war on it and execute everyone in that clan until my grandson becomes the leader . I have been able to all that so far . I've been meaning to get into Bannerlord again after a year of not touching it and want to know what's the state of the full conversion mods as I find the vanilla game uninteresting. Last year I did a EoE 1100 save and really enjoyed it but now I wanted to try something different and ideally that would take advantage of the latest updates and War Sails DLC (which I haven't bought but I'm open to), so being recently updated is a plus . From what I gathered my best options are: -Realm of Thrones; -Eagle Rising; -EoE 1100; -EoE 1700; -Shokuho; -Anno Domini 1259 (continued). From what I understand, out of these the only one that incorporates War Sails is Eagle Rising, but at the expense of messing up other good parts of the mod, like the europa map. So is Eagle Rising what I'm looking for or are there better options, how does it play without the europa map? Tried to get back into this game and made a new character, after not having the time or energy to care to play for a few months. I tested my new warhorse and banner colors in a full open-field Bannerlord battle. No siege walls this time, no bridge trap, no narrow gate fight. Just cavalry movement, infantry pressure, arrows flying, and the army colors standing out across the battlefield. Ngl Warband's world feels more alive to me. Especially when it comes to dialogues Bannerlord feels so empty but warband had personality. Also stuff Like unique companions, different lord personalities, ability to ask other lords where they are (this might seem like a small issue in bannerlord but when it comes to that neretzes quest it's really a big deal lol) even quests are better in warband, like training villagers so they can fight with bandits, or saving a girl from bandits. I helped a village once, and the villages lord told me stuff like 'that was my village if they need anything they should come to their lord not you' (I don't remember the exact words but it was something along this line) also one of my biggest issue with Bannerlord is that companions are so bad. I noticed that the only reason my 300 fian champions can beat 1000+ imperial armies suffering very few losses is that the AI breaks the lines and charges you in loose formation leaving every side open to arrows. I'm playing bannerlord difficulty and I think fians would win anyway even if the imperials would move in shield wall but I would be suffering far more losses - at the actual point they lose half of their infantry before the melee impact. The Vlandians held the city for a while, but once the black-gold army pushed through the walls, the fight turned into a full close-quarters assault. With Banner Kings being discontinued, and not finding a mod set in the our world's classical historical time period, I am searching for something spicy. I've already seen the one set in Ancient, pre Imperial, Calradian era. As mentioned, I am looking at similar but with it being set along the coasts of Mediterranean basin, possibly including the Levant and Mesopotamia. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has complained on here about this but the marriage system drives me insane. I’m on console so no mods. I took the crazy amount of patience for the first time in this play through for my kids to age up and now that they’re 18 I wanted to find them wives close in age. You’re telling me that If I want to marry them to the same culture or another specific culture that I have to track down a clan where the oldest unmarried clan member is close to 18? I’m trying to marry my first son to an empire culture woman and every clan I’ve checked has a 30+ year old unmarried member rotting around preventing it. It feels so stupid and unrealistic and something they could’ve easily changed to make sense or be better for gameplay sakes. My only options would be to hope the older unmarried ones get imprisoned or something to make them ineligible but how am I supposed to monitor that across multiple clans with eligible wives, or I can hope I get offered one by chance but...

I started with the Aserai as a vassal and was given a good chunk of the Southern Empire as feifs being an empire culture character. I guess I got lucky but the Aserai decided to only fight the western empire for years and I took the time to get my trade up to the max to buy settlements which was a major pain. I was able to manipulate votes to go back to war with the south and took a few more towns and castles which were thankfully all voted to me somehow. By then I was making $30k+ a turn with a few million in the bank I left the Aserai and paid the $1 million for peace. Thanks to the Khuzait and Aserai for taking a few of the north, south, and some of the western empires fiefs, I’ve been able to buy up towns and castles for cheap. At this point I can just wait in town for income and keep buying them up until I can buy the whole world. I know this strategy has been around for a while but I haven’t tried it yet but it’s been pretty fun. submitted by /u/PassOnInTheWin...
