Mods with only one Kingdom

I know the whole point of MnB is the chaos and politics of different kingdoms, BUT i was wondering if there are any mods with only one major kingdom or just 2 for a rebellion type playthrough. How do the mods work in this game?

This game probably has the weirdest way to run mods. Do they work if I select them from the scenario select? Or do they always work across all the scenarios, such as Native and Viking conquest. I am confused
