Monchug was feeling generous today.

I'm playing with some mods that heavily restrict recruitment, so my army is almost entirely bandits and mercenaries. On land, Monchug's army would destroy mine, but this isn't a land battle and he gifted me several amazing prizes. What determines the lords of a faction (non-player) to defect early in the game?

I really like it when the lord of a faction defects and we get such gems as a Rhodok Wercheg, a Nord Bariyye, or whatever else. So I was wondering if there's a way to motivate lords to do it, either through modding the mod_sys, or through in-game actions. Any ideas?
