Tips on battle formations for a party filled with infantry and crossbows?

What is the best formation and movement command when engaging enemies considering i only have infantry and archers?

And what is for defense?

My situation is like this, i’ve been using the circle formation and charging and i’ve beaten enemies that are almost double the size. I just got curious, is there a better combination of formation and movement commands using only infantries and archers?
