Hey folks! Question about War Sails.

I’m still a new player at Mount & Blade. My friend has the PS+ catalogue so I gave Warband a shot and liked it, I’ll be sure to play it on PC! I’m interested in buying War Sails. (1.9) My own tier 5 troops are retreating against bandit parties even when they're at 100 morale, WITH the loyalty and honor perk.

The perk is as follows: "tier 3+ troops ignore retreat due to low morale." Is there some hidden retreating mechanic or did the devs just break something in 1.9? Is anyone else experiencing this?
