Are shorter weapons better?

The most common issue I face on the battlefields is that my sword will get caught on an ally or hit someone I'm not engaged with for miniscule damage. I primarily run longer swords or polearms which probably doesn't help. Would I see more benefit if I changed to a shorter axe or mace to use on large battlefields? submitted by /u/Dr_Ukato [link] [comments]

What is your favorite play style and personal story?

For me it's this

  1. Bannerlord difficulty (ironman too if you want a greater challenge).

  2. You're only allowed to use companions (most of which should share your fighting style).

  3. You can only trade for your own personal gear in cities of your own culture.

  4. Your companions follow the same rules as you, you can only trade for their equipment in cities of their culture.

  5. Your goal is to take at least 3 cities and 3 castles.

  6. You must execute the leader of at least 1 kingdom and destroy their clan.

The story my current character has is he's a Vlandian mercenary whose first band of mercenaries was completely butchered by an army led by Garios, who he now holds a very large grudge for.

He's a cavalry specialist with a group of about 4 companions all on horseback as well. The largest group I've fought and won against so far was a group of about 40 deserters.

Detailed Mariner Unit Analysis/Tier List for Campaign

TL;DR Tier List. These are my personal notes and I acknowledge it is just my opinion, just posted to hopefully help others S: Imperial Naute A: Battanian Skipari, Vlandian Nauta, Nord Huscarl, B: Sturgian Reaver, Nord Berserkr, Aserai Bahriyyah, C: Corsair Chief, Nord Skjaldbrestir, Nord Chosen of the Sky-God, Sea Raider Chief D: Various Convoy Guards, Nord Ulfhedinn, F: Nord Youngling Testing is done in actual campaign as well as using custom battles and the Retinue mod to look directly at stats/equipment. General Observations: Shields are required, otherwise you get shredded by ranged attacks. Skills and ship upgrades can boost shield health massively, with some like the Nord Decorated Shield crossing 2,000 hp! I've seen Huscarls with 20+ Javelins in their unbroken shield at the end of a battle.
