i can't sue for peace while actively dying

im in 2 front war, all my vassals are captured, i have one castle left after vlandia cane with the 2000 men army and took my city , and i cant make peace even i i want to pay tribute. Military Retreats leaving me alone?

So I setup for a fight with a evenly matched group of Sea Raiders. I took the first 5 of them out before they reached my men and my men ran off leaving me alone. I tried calling them back and that was it, the fight was over before it started lol... What is going on?
