STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Good day to you all, I'm having trouble where in the launcher menu it won't allow me to tick those boxes for mods. I've installed these via Vortex, and used to have quite a few mods few months ago. Came back to the game 2months later to find this not working any more.

I've deleted old mods and installed fresh ones from the nexusmods.

Any ideas? Thank you <3
