Companion cavalry party - Where do they get the horses from

I would like to make a companion lead a clan party with all horse archers. However, I'm not sure how they would upgrade the infantry to cavalry, or the cavalry to heavy cavalry. Do they need horses to upgrade troops, or do they 'cheat' and upgrade them without horses? Do they buy horses in towns, and if yes, which (since prices for especially war mounts can vary greatly)? Thanks in advance! Is being of imperial culture not the best?

My main goal is always to hold as many cities as possible because they make the most money and more important you can build forums there to generate influence, with is the biggest bottleneck resource mid to late game. But if you hold a city of a different culture you get a -3 debuff to fief loyalty, which is quit annoying. So while you can not change the culture of a fief nor your own and most fiefs are of imperial culture wouldn’t it makes sense to always play as a imperial from a min max standpoint?

Dickplomacy Reloaded!

Hello everyone! :D I just made a mod, it's called Dickplomacy Reloaded. Basically it adds the functionality that you would find in normal mods, such as Dynamic Troop Trees, Custom Troop Trees, Freelancer, Tournament Play Enhancements, Single Screen Character Creation, and Rubiks World Map into Dickplomacy. ^-^ It also doesn't require WSE, but you still need the older (exe) version of Warband that comes with Dickplomacy. (Though I haven't tested it with the newest version of Warband so it might work.) Also, if you do decide to download it, please ignore (DO NOT USE) the "content options" folder, it is legacy, and the mod is compiled from source with all features.
