I just came back to the game after a year hiatus, and I'm thrilled they finally actually added mechanics rather than just doing endless bug and balance patches that somehow break every mod with every patch. I discovered the sneaking tutorial, and then found out that basically every stealth kill or every other stealth kill gives a level of roguery. (5 focus points) now I'm wondering what's the point of alleys anymore. They were never particularly good, but at least there was an argument to be made that they increased roguery. But now that I can just go farm hideout stealth missions, earn way more money, keep my companions in my party, and not gain crime in the process, I'm wondering what purpose alleys serve anymore? I'm new to Warband and I have been playing for a couple of weeks now. So far I'm really liking it but I'm afraid I may have fucked up a bit. I worked as a merc for a bit and then became a vassal for Swadia and Rhodoks respectively until I had some money and about 60 fellas with me. I kept pissing off the kings by starting shit on the orders of some of the other lords. The kings kept not giving me any fiefs so I decided to leave, start my own kingdom, and take my own castle. This hasn't turned out well for me. Now every kingdom is at war with me and no one wants to make peace. I've recruited one other lord but we just keep getting skullfucked. Now I'm trying to crawl back to make peace and give up my castle but no one wants that. Do I have any options here apart from getting skullfucked?
